The area
Neighbourhood: The Marina
It’s hard to believe that only a decade ago there was no marina. Opened in 2003, the man-made marina runs along a 3km stretch of shoreline. A heady mix of luxurious hotels, apartment buildings, and cafes, the marina hosts regular community events and markets, and is a wonderful place to while away an afternoon or evening. Spectacular at night when the skyscrapers glisten, here you can enjoy dinner on the beach next to the sea, or visit a high-rise bar in a hotel for a magnificent view across the Gulf and the man-made Palm Island, with the world-famous Atlantis Hotel at its end. The Walk at Jumeirah beach Residences is a pedestrianized stretch leading to a new development: The Beach. It’s one of the few places where Gulf nationals mix with tourists and Western ex-pats. It’s a popular place to show off your supercar for an evening, so watch out for Lamborghinis, Maseratis, and Ferraris in abundance.

    Incredible Destination
Dubai Marina is an incredible destination that I highly recommend for everyone. From the beautiful marina and skyline views to the numerous activities and attractions, there is something for everyone. The marina has a wide variety of restaurants, bars, and cafes to choose from, offering a variety of cuisines and atmospheres. There are plenty of shopping and entertainment spots, ranging from high-end malls to more affordable stores. The marina is also home to several public parks, which are great for relaxing and taking in the scenery. The waterfront promenade is a great place for a stroll or a bike ride, and the marina also offers boat tours and water sports. Overall, Dubai Marina is a great place to visit and I highly recommend it to all.

    Just awesome in the evening
The see and be seen venue on the canals of the marina. We got to the area walking and as we crossed the bridge, we saw what it was all about and had to get down to the water level and do the promenade along the waterfront. We had a gelato at Massimo's and as it grew darker the silhouettes of the gigantic buildings were pronounced by the lights positioned on them. Beautiful. Great walking, the sundown and temperatures cooling slightly it's a serene location.

    Stunning Sight After Dark
Beautiful marina surrounded by modern high rises creates a stunning sight especially after dark. Plenty of expensive places to shop, eat and drink. Mama Zonia at Pier 7 was an outstanding dining experience overlooking the water. The Marina embodies the glamour and wealth of Dubai, but it also lacks something. It is clean and all newly built in the last decade or two but it feels a bit sterile and lacks authenticity probably as it doesn't have any history.

    Stunning architecture
Interesting reading the reviews now - it seems like it would be very worthwhile to go back in the evening when the lights are on. I was there in late morning, and it was almost deserted. Admittedly, it was 37 degrees, so perhaps people were staying indoors due to the heat. In any case, it was a beautiful area with interesting architecture. Use of the tram through the area was included in a metro daypass, and was a useful way of getting around, although to get to the water you will have to walk from one of the stops.

A great walk in the evening
So much happening in this place. Dinner cruises, the mall, numerous restaurants, or just watching the sights. We often take the walk when staying on Jumeirah Beach Sheraton. There is always a lot to see, and you get the benefit in the evening of it being lit up, and the temperatures being a few degrees cooler, which was very helpful in September. The only negative is the restaurant people continuing to try to get you to eat at their places. Friendly people but just so many of them!

People are so nice and very accomadating, their smile were so warmth and welcoming. Also the guy Mr.Vaibhav was so nice and told us to ask him if we needed anything else. Forgot his name but surely I will recommend this resto for my friends 👍

Lovely area but be on the look out
A beautiful area to walk around either in the day or night, but the lights make the evening experience a little more enjoyable. Loads of smart restaurants and cafes to eat and drink at and not too expensive for the area. Just two issues that we didn’t enjoy which stops me giving it 5 stars 1/ Some of the touts trying to get you to eat in their restaurant were a bit invasive and stopped a nice leisurely walk. Others are not a problem when you say you have eaten or meeting someone. Just be prepared! 2/ the second issue was a real nuisance and that is the E scooters that plague the area. They travel at some speed and you can’t here them, they also have electric buggies that are a nuisance as well. I get that it would be beneficial for people with mobility problems but this is just for fun. Please be aware of your environment as there a few near misses. Personally I’d like to see them stopped as it stops you relaxing as you walk about. Some fabulous yachts in the marina to drool over as well. There is also the marina mall which is pleasant to walk around

    Beautiful marina
The area is very beautiful. It is surrounded by skyscrapers, with a waterfront promenade, there are many restaurants (but very few also serve alcohol...). There are also a few small grocery stores where you can buy water or juice at reasonable prices. Also, there is a mall, but it is not the most beautiful in Dubai. In the evening, the employees of the restaurants trying to convince you to stop at them are a bit annoying. The area is much more spectacular and livelier in the evening.

    Cool Area
We really enjoyed our time walking around in this area. Many of Dubai's other tall buildings are here and we enjoyed the architecture and design in the area. It is worthwhile checking out a restaurant in this area to sit and enjoy the views with some good. The closest metro is DMCC and there are a few tram connections nearby. Plan to spend a couple of hours here in cooler months and more if you plan to dine here.

Nice area to wander around. Bit of a shame that you have to go up to the big bridges to get from one side to the other. Lots of restaurants in the area, and a nice stroll to be had.

I'm an electric wheelchair user. After spending several hours at the Marina, I came to the mall for lunch and to top up my battery. 15 min of recharge is enough to shop here and return to my hotel.

Would you believe the Marina Mall does NOT have a working powerpoint. NOT ONE; according to 'customer service' supervisor/manager.

I'm now limping away, pushing my electric wheelchair, wearing my sunglasses in the mall to hide my tears.

Disgusting and despicable treatment of a partially handicapped elderly grandma.

We stayed around 7 days at Shams JBR in Dubai Marina. Location is absolutely perfect. Plenty of restaurants and stores around. The best part is how close we were to the beach. Allocating a full day to the beach is a must. Here is my suggestion if you are travelling with kids under 10. You can walk to the beach and hire daybed or cabana. We went with the cabana which was great, provided sun protection and place to leave our stuff and have a good sun soaking area. There are plenty of activities to do .. some tips: water obstacle - this looks fun and let me tell you it’s not easy, they do provide life jackets but make sure your kids can swim. We tried it but our son (8 years old) didn’t really like it. We also tried to do some jet skiing but they need photo ID which we didn’t had (who carries their passport to the beach). So opted for the banana ride which was fun. Local beach staff also come around regularly offering drinks (all non alcoholic) you can pay by card on the spot and they bring it to your location. We tried some and it was super refreshing. Lifeguards are located on the beach and water is super calm. My final tip: the traffic in Dubai marina is crazy so if you are driving make sure you prepare yourself for periods of sitting in traffic. We had parking at our hotel which is a must if you are driving. I took 1 point off my rating due to the traffic. Overall we absolutely loved our stay at Dubai Marina and be happy to come back but next time we won’t hire a car 😀

I ended up here a couple of times after doing the amazing XLine zipline ride down through the skyscrapers and over the marina, and then when I got off the ferry trip along the coastline.
It is a very picturesque area to walk in without the crowds and general buzz of other places in the city. Nice to see the twisty Cayan Tower, the super yachts and photogenic skyline (with buildings that actually blend together nicely rather than the mish mash that is downtown).
You can also easily walk to Bluewater and the big wheel area where there are hot snacks, funfair rides and a few good souvenir shops.
If you love skyscrapers go to these ones rather than downtown!

Amazing city! Very clean, very organized! We went on business, but had the opportunity to visit The Frame, Miracle Garden, The Global Village.
The best experience was a Safari trip to the Red Dessert, but the magical moment was private night yacht cruise!
