About
Situated in the historical district of Al Fahidi, Meena Bazaar is a cluster of shops spread across several streets. You’ll find great food here in the Little India of Dubai, as well as textiles, hand-embroidered apparel, unique antiques, spices, and jewelry.
The bazaar is busy day and night—you can try visiting in the afternoon when it’s relatively quieter. Get here by metro or bus, and have cash ready, as smaller merchants may not accept credit cards. When you’re done taking it all in, the Dubai Museum and Dubai Creek are a short distance away. – Tripadvisor

However we enjoyed the route from the spice & gold souks on a water taxi at a very low rate of one Dirham.Visited December 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten December 8, 2022
- Robert ORotterdam, The Netherlands3,821 contributionsBetween Al Ghubaiba metro station and the old fortMeena bazar in Al Fahidi feels a bit like India or Pakistan. It is not a bazar in the classical sense of the word, but rather a cluster of small shops and restaurants in a labyrint of alleys and streets. Butchers, tailors, 5 dirham hairdressers, laundry places and groceries, very many small low-budget restaurants mostly offering Indian and Paistani food. Beware of shopkeepers selling jewelry, traditional clothes, perfumes and spices who are experienced in dealing with ignorant tourists. Of course there are honest men among them, but bargaining without knowing real Dubai prices always ends in being overcharged or ripped of.Visited January 2023Written February 6, 2023

Mr Ali IS my knowledgeable on fabrics and design. In addition, the actual tailors were precise on measurements and fit. Guys, if you are visiting Dubai or a resident, and you enjoy high level fashion that is fit to your body, Santoba is a must stop. Scams in Dubai - Dubai police not effective as should be as this has been happening for the past 10 years yet tourists & locals are been conned each day !
The reason as to why I travelled to Dubai is because it is allegedly supposed to be one of the safest places in the world, trust me it is not. Myself, my wife, and my brother and his wife were walking along Meena Bazaar. A young Indian guy, early 20s approached me about my large stomach and saying I hope you don’t mind sir, but my father had a big stomach like you and there is a mixture of herbs that reduce all of your belly fat within 40 days, how he knew of a herbal treatment that was effective..gave some names which we had never heard of.
As I was aware of my obesity and wanted to reduce my weight after my holiday, I thought this was a God send and went with him to the shops.
This guy was trying to be humble and just reiterated please pray for me for the advise I give, they both talked in Punjabi to me. He showed us a ‘fake’ photo of his so called father who’s fat belly had been shrunk
educed . I don’t know how i got lured into following him to the shop to buy the product. . He walked so quickly and through alleys(so i couldn’t trace the location) took me fist to a normal grocery shop where I paid 60 AED for to pots of packaged fat losing powder, he then took me to herbal shop and there the herbalist showed me three tubes of herbal powder and said the pots were 60, 70 or 75 AED, he then put the powder in 13 doses he then made a bill of irc 1100 AED and I paid this by card. He then said you need this herbal powder as well and noticed I was gullible and to far gone into this investment . He then showed me another powder and I k DW he would charge by the dose and made the bill up to 1800 AED. In total over 3200 AED. I payed as the products were all inside the bottles mixed up. The 2 guys who accompanied us disappeared. I was stunned and shocked when I left the shop and thought I have paid over £750 for this herbal powder and was lost in the bazaar, I managed to find my family and they then asked me did you buy the product and I said yes, I was to embarrassed to tell them of the amount I paid. Thankfully my family know me and said something is not right, I the. Told them I had been scammed, luckily we I managed to retrace my steps back to the shop (see photo attached of the shop) and started discussing what had happened to us and that we were going to go all the way to prosecute them so that they learn their lesson.
The shop owner said I didn’t force you to buy this and the products are mixed so no good to me, my cousin and wife said we will call the police and the shop owner said call the police which I thought very strange. In the end he said I will have to charge you 30% as my product has been wasted, this when it’s a false product and scam.
I said just to get me out of the situation 5% and he then refunded the money which I still don’t know if he has charged twice and paid him 150AED in cash for his so called loss of product.
Please note i called the police and they would not file a complaint, they have E me the consumer rights Arab emirates website to report the fraud and crime on.
Please note stay away from MEENA bazaar

Meena Bazaar is the side of Dubai where you can bargain and get good deals. You will find popular jewellery shops like Malabar and Joyalukas there.

Good range of shops, but some people on the streets try and call you in, and some shopkeepers try and sell fakes.
The genuine places are good though and happy to do a deal

Meena Bazaar is little India. Great for shopping Indian clothing and the street food is amazing and cheap. However, the numerous street vendours can drive you crazy. Every 2 meters you walk, another one turns up in your face, sometimes literally begging you to buy some fake bag or shoe.
Also know where to shop your Indian clothing. Do not get tempted with (very)low prices, because in the end you will end up with poor quality fabric and on top of that very bad tailoring work.
