Described as both a ‘Vertical City’ and ‘A Living Wonder,’ Burj Khalifa, developed by Dubai-based Emaar Properties PJSC, is the world’s tallest building.

Rising gracefully from the desert, Burj Khalifa honours the city with its extraordinary union of art, engineering and meticulous craftsmanship.

At 828 metres (2,716.5 ft), the 200 plus storey Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world. The tower was inaugurated on January 4, 2010, and is responsible for a number of world-firsts. The tower became the world’s tallest man-made structure just 1,325 days after excavation work started in January 2004.

Burj Khalifa utilised a record-breaking 330,000 cubic metres of concrete; 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement; 103,000 square metres of glass; and 15,500 square metres of embossed stainless steel. The tower took 22 million man hours to build.

Beautiful views, expensive price.

The views were very nice, but after the buildings there isn't much to see but desert. For what you get it is overpriced.

well. OK, it's high and the view is quite nice. but to be fair Shanghai or HongKong skyscrappers are much more interesting. Still, worth visiting although a bit too expensive.

Expensive but worth it. We used Bonton tours and travels throughout our trip to Dubai. Barring one day when we went to Abu Dabhi, our experience with Bonton was pretty good. The view from the 124/125 floor is exhilarating.

We went as a family to the top 124th floor and it's amazing. I suggest the day time view is much more better than the night unless you are a professional camera person. The night view with the city of Dubai lighting up is nice but hardly get a good picture where as the day you can get a better... More

We took the 'At the Top Syke tour' package and were not disappointed. After reading other reviews regarding the queues for the floors 125 and 124 (horrific both up and down) we booked the more expensive option. We had no queues and the experience was very smooth and very pleasant. The 148 floor option meant that you are fast tracked... More

Queueing for this was a dog's dinner. They don't have enough staff to handle the amount of people that want to go up this phenomenal building. Once you get up there though it's pretty spectacular and to calm down from the rage of the queues to marvel at the city. We went at night time and it was so cool... More

Burj Khalifa is truly a man made wonder, standing tall with 165 floors. At the top entrance to Burj 124th Floor Observation Deck is from inside the Dubai Mall.Strongly recommend booking in advance. a must visit in Dubai.

Drove around by car. Not easy to find parking. Only at the roundabout at the armani hotel entrance. Didn't go to the top due to the bad weather. Next day visit to dubai mall with very nice weather. And the sight was completely different.

This is a must do in Dubai. There is no doubt when you are up there that it is the tallest building in the world!

Got tickets without any trouble. But then waited in a queue for an hour before allowed entrance. 1 minute journey to top in elevator. Once at the top nothing to do, just a few photographs which we took ourselves, then another half an hour queue to go back down again. Was expecting more from the experience. Waste of money really.

Staying in Downtown Dubai

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.
