Yes, it was closed when we visited Vina del Mar in February; however, I still wanted a peek inside. Even from the exterior there were statues to admire and looking through the gates I could appreciate the vegetation. If I return to this area, this is first on my list of must dos.

I HIGHLY recommend a visit here, especially if you just want a quiet walk or want to have some play time with young children. It was absolutely worth the drive from the city. After seeing the reviews, we felt like we were taking a risk to go for the morning. But we LOVED it!

The beautiful plants, water, floral smells, and well-maintained trails made for a great escape from the city for a few hours.

There’s also an area that has a zip line that looked fantastic. We went with our two year old, so we weren’t there for that. But it looked fun!

My partner and I had a very pleasant afternoon here. It’s nice to potter around, but nothing spectacular. Facilities wise, there’s a cafe with a small selection in the middle of the circular route. There are plenty of loos available throughout .
The hothouse was closed- probably due to Covid, it looked very small from the outside. The zip line is closed, this looked permanent (& fairly dangerous). We saw some nice wildlife and it was very relaxing.

Welcome to get away from the hectic noisy part of a Santiago. Peaceful and nice gardens. Parts were very dry but with the drought it is understandable. Nice welcome break!

We were here in June, and it was 55 degrees and rainy. Very few things were blooming, and the climbing area, cafe, and greenhouse were closed. However, despite being here in the wrong season, we really enjoyed our visit. It must be wonderful in the spring and summer. We spent several hours here and walked on all the trails. It's well taken care of and has many different areas, such as Rapa Nui garden, palm tree section, and lake. The employee at the little green entry house was very kind, and landscapers were out working despite the weather. We really liked this garden, kids and adults alike.

We visited this park on the day that the Chilean children returned to school, so the end of the summer for them. There were not many people at all and we very much enjoyed driving though this large and beautiful park. We especially enjoyed the hothouse full of the most beautiful flowers and plants we'd never seen. We stopped for a couple of walks, and found this garden a perfect place for a beautiful day.

Located slightly outside Viña Del Mar, the Botanical garden can be reached by car o bus with a 15 mn walk. I did a 1 1/2 hour walk among a variety of trees fairly well tagged for learning purpose. The garden is crossed by a brook and has a lovely pond with ducks and geese. There is a tiny coffee shop and various picknik areas.
A very pleasant open air walk.

Chile's National Botanical Garden occupies about 32 hectares and it's located in the city of Viña del Mar. It has over 1100 plant species including trees, cacti, medicinal plants, fuchsias and alstroemerias, many of them endemic to central Chile and the Juan Fernandez archipelago. The park is home to about 50 species of birds.
There are many trails, meadows, small waterfalls, a Japanese bridge and an artificial lagoon with aquatic birds and a pretty white gazebo. The National Botanical Garden provides a location for conservation and environmental education, and for recreation and a peaceful encounter with nature

This is a nice retreat away from the city. It is a beautiful relaxing, wooded setting. You can either enjoy driving through the park or you can take a healthful walk through the park. There is a very pleasant pond in the park filled with ducks. For the children you will find a great play area. You can bring out your family lunch and have a picnic. This is definately worth the visit for individuals of all ages, as well as families.

Well, first of all, I went by myself, using public transportation and I made it safe and sound, but I wouldn't do it again, I suggest taking a taxi or something like that.. The road was very lonely and I was a bit scared. Anyway, once I got there, it was interesting.. I'm not really a "flower person", but I enjoyed walking around the garden, the roses were the prettiest :) and I definitely think the fishes area needs a bit of maintenance
