I enjoyed my trip to see the dinosaur tracks but wouldn’t sacrifice a must-do in Sucre to do it. I took the dino bus (bright red bus with dinosaurs on the side, can’t miss it) there and back. I also took the English speaking tour even though I’m an intermediate Spanish speaker (I’m very glad I did since I don’t know dinosaur and archaeological words!). For me, the visit wouldn’t have been worth if I didn’t take the tour. All in all, I enjoyed this activity for a few hours.

Very disappointing visit, first you enter a plastic theme park full of dinosaurs. The museum was filled with plastic bones as well and afterwards they take you to the wall of dinosaur footprints, which was quite interesting. It’s a great park for taking your kids and youngsters, as an adult don’t expect something mind blowing. 🦕🦖

As a lot of people have mentioned it before, the park is nice to visit, but only because of the footprints. So don‘t miss one of the tours at 12:00 or 13:00 PM, otherwise, you‘re not allowed to go close to the footprints. The rest of the park is nicely done, with some dinosaur sculptures, but not more. There is also a very small playground for kids. The entrance fee is 30 BOB plus 5 BOB camera fee, if you want to take pictures. We took the Dino bus from the main square, which was really convenient. The tickets for both ways were 15 BOB and it took us about 30-40min to get there.

If you are in Sucre you must visit this unique site! In no other part of the world you can find so many well preserved dinosaurs’ footprints. Be sure to be there by 12.00 to get the guided tour.

We ignored the mixed reviews and decided to check out this park next to the French concrete company. The facilities are very nice, clean, and have informative information scattered throughout (i.e. plaques chronologically explaining geographic and biologic events in the history of the world line the walls at the park's entrance). The view of the city and surrounding mountains is spectacular from here as well.
In terms of cost, the entrance fee is 10 Bs for Bolivians and 30 Bs ($4.25 USD) for foreigners. We did not use the pay-per-minute telescopes to see the foot prints, but also were not forced to use a different camera to take photos (see our photos below). The city micro (#4) runs from in front of Universidad San Francisco Xavier(one block from the plaza on the corner of Estudiantes street and Junin) and only costs 3.50 Bs/person round trip ($0.50 USD). It takes about 25 minutes, runs every 3-4 minutes, and keeps you from having to wait for the other tourists at the end of the trip (aka you can take the micro whenever you want, unlike the more expensive tourist buses).
Tours begin with a video (we saw about 20 minutes of it) about the life of the dinosaurs. Guides are free and offer tours in English or Spanish.
We agree that the tracks are far off and tough to see...and that the dinosaur replicas of the 4 dinosaur species native to South America are geared towards families with kids. However, this is still a great geologic site and a neat museum. We recommend visiting this site if you have a couple of days in Sucre.
Also, there is a cafe, gift shop, and a play area for children under 12 years of age.
p.s. It's actually called, "Parque Cretacico."

The dinosaur tracks in the parque cretácico are an exceptional sample of great paleontological value. A combination of sheer luck and prudence has unearthed a plethora of dinosaur footprints near a cement factory. If you look through the fancy statues that the management has erected, you can admire the huge wall with the footpints. Go there at noon, because the excavation tours (which I missed☹️) are at noon and an 1 pm.

So the tour operator explains about the foot prints, how they found them and how the area and land changed with plates. That was interesting, the actual museum is very poor, you don't really get an understanding of our great ancestors. Also it is a place the ould dinos passed through on way to Argentina so no actual Dino remains.
It's two hours long, if you have a night bus like we did and want to kill a few hours then yes but it's not a must see like death road but it's not the worst in world

I don't get how this isn't the Number 1 attraction in Sucre. It was second only to Salar de Uyuni in terms of the things we did in Bolivia, so any average or lower reviews just don't make sense to me.
Our hotel arranged a taxi for us, the driver stayed and waited while we visited the museum, watched a quick film and went on the guided tour. You want to get there for the tours (on our day the English tour started at 12:30pm and took us into the exhibits before heading down to the footprints at 1pm). Both guides spoke English well and knew what they were talking about.
The footprints themselves. OH MY. Seriously one of the coolest things I have seen in my life. You are looking at such old history - multiple species of dinosaur, prints of some 500+ individual dinos (forgive me if that's off, it's been a month) and you can walk right up to them (PLEASE don't touch the wall, rocks fell as we there). The fact that they don't have UNESCO status yet is mind-boggling. Only skip if dinosaurs don't interest you in the absolute slightest.

Make sure you get here in time for the tour at either 12 or 1pm. A guide will walk you down to the footprints and you can see them perfectly.
Without the tour you would see them from a viewing platform and you can't really make them out.
There is a red Dino bus that leaves from outside the cathedral. Check the parks website for times (in english).
All in all, a really interesting quick trip from Sucre.

Got to the site with my partner on the number 4 public bus, which we caught from the corner of Calle Junin and Arenales for B/1.50 each on a Sunday. Took about an hour for us to get there as there was a lot of traffic going through one of the market streets. The footprints tours left at 12 and 1pm, and we got there in time for the 1am tour. Was very interesting seeing the footprints up close, and the statues of the dinosaurs gave you a reference for what the creatures looked like who made them.
But the main point of this review is PLEASE DON'T TOUCH THE PRINTS! They have this rule for a reason! An idiot Australian girl in our group rubbed her finger across one while the guide was distracted and the rock crumbled away underneath it. Incredibly disrespectful of all the hard work the people are putting in to protect this amazing site. The rock face is very fragile, this is why they have the no touching rule!! Literally millions of years of history was rubbed away with a moments stupidity.
Would recommend the organisers put a rope up or something so careless tourists don't have the opportunity to cause further damage. Unfortunately their trust was put into the wrong people with the group I was with.

Is there a Public bus to the dinosaurs foodprints ? Or another possibility to come there without a tour and how much cost that all. ? Entrance and drive ? Greetings
Written September 30, 2016
Yes there is a public bus that takes you all the way there for just 1.50 BOB. The site is at the last stop so you can't go past it. I went out on a Sunday or a Monday (I don't recall which) and the site was CLOSED so make sure you check.
