Northern Lights Arena (NLA) is the only facility in Northeast Michigan to provide two first- class, official NHL sized ice rinks within one building. Our state of the art primary rink provides seating for 1,200, an in-rink concession stand, six large, full service private locker rooms and an 1/8 mile rubberized running track. About Northern Lights Arena Community: Multi-Purpose Arena Coalition (MPAC), or better known as Northern Lights Arena Community (NLAC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated and responsible for the operations of Northern Lights Arena. NLAC is made up of volunteer community members and is dedicated to maintaining the facility in a profitable manner and to maintain accessibility to citizens of the Alpena area. Outreach activities include a walking track, learn to skate programs, non-ice events and programs, as well and many other recreational activities. Of course, the core business utilizes the ice rink facilities for figure skating, hockey and speed skating.

This place had some problems the past couple years with a "poor management" issue, but that has been resolved! A great place to watch hockey, do some skating, and a great place to have birthday parties for the kids!
