The song lyric "down on Main Street" refers to this Main Street - plenty to do and see. Strolling through the summer festivals throughout the season can be a thrifty or expensive adventure - as you prefer. During art fair the city will set up...More

I love walking down Main-street whether window shopping, stopping at a sidewalk cafe for morning coffee and a croissant or visiting an art gallery. There is really something for everyone on Main St. like shops, restaurants, concert venues, mimes, minstrels and mingling. The crowds in...More

Main Street! Where all the action is! I don't like catch phrases either, but it does make sense because this is where you find the most and best shopping, plus the most and best restaurants. All the best book shops are in the Main Street...More

Classic college town - but very pricey. Lots of food places, but everything closes at 10 pm - That makes it rather unfriendly if you are visiting from the western US. Otherwise, clearly a happening place

Really cute downtown area. Didn't even mind walking around it on a rainy Saturday morning while we were visiting, as there are many unique shops and restaurants to visit. A highlight for us was locating the fairy doors, as a self guided fairy door walking...More

...but parking is atrocious! I recommend parking in a city lot on a Sunday in which they charge no fee UNLIKE the UofM lots which still charge a friggin' fee on Sundays!

Main Street is comprised of shops, bars and an eclectic series of restaurants. Fun to walk the street, but not unique among large university towns. Very pleasant and vibrant.

I live in Ann Arbor and often visit the Main Street area. There are excellent restaurants, with outside seating and little shops. Summer time weekend evenings often have street performers present. The Ark, a nationally known musical venue is on Main Street. It's a safe...More
