The canoe livery in Ann Arbor is an amazing experience. The level of the river will decide for you what is available but anyway you will discover a hidden and natural part of the city ! Expect to be wet... Very wet.

It was the perfect day to make our maiden kayaking venture. After a bit of paddling, I let myself soak in the langour. N feel the breeze, water currents, the greenery, the sky, ducks, herons, people waving at you! Perfect SundayI managed to tuck in both my camera and phone(for selfies ;)..I was lucky I came back with with a... More

Not being a kayaking expert you can easily manage this trip down to Gallup. I have been canoeing and kayaking on still water in Gallup park but had ever been on the river upstream. The trip down was easy and quite relaxing. The water conditions are low but not dry. You do hit spots that are super shallow and all... More

We've taken the trip from Argo to Gallup Park several times, and have always enjoyed it. Normally we take a couple of canoes and divide the family up between them. This time we all rented a single 5-person inflatable boat. We actually had 6, because we had three kids (2,6,12) and three adults. It was a ball. Even the 2... More

We had a great float from Argo down to Gallup Park. The boats were clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The shuttle took us right back to our car when we finished. Best of all was the beautiful and clean Huron River replete with birds and plants. If only there were a beach to pull over on... More

If you are not a canoe/kayak person (like me) I suggest a wonderful walk through Argo Park. Walk away from the livery via the parking lot to the path in the trees, keeping the river on your left side. You enter a gorgeous wooded area with spectacular views of the Huron River and Argo Pond. Where the path ends at... More

First, if you are going on a weekend, be prepared to park at the Kellogg Eye Center. They DO NOT have enough parking on site. Second, Make sure that you bring a driver's license or credit card to rent the tubes or kayaks. Third, if you are tubing be prepared that the kayaks rule. Many of them hit us with... More

We did the 1.5 hour trip and it was just the right length for our family. The cascades are nothing scary or dangerous but just enough thrill to be fun for novices, fun enough that everyone wished we could do them again. Despite running through Ann Arbor, there is plenty of "wilderness" to be enjoyed. We even saw a young... More

Such a splendid way to spend an afternoon with family with kids, or a group of friends or just a solo trip! The river is slow and rambling. The scenery is great and although you may encounter some places where you need to hop out and navigate the low spots it is all FUN! 😄🚣🏼🚣🏼💦
