About
Founded in 1999 in Arcadia, Michigan, the course is built on the bluffs above the shore of Lake Michigan and sits on approximately 245 windswept acres of lakefront property. The course drops 225 feet from its highest point down to the bluff, 180 feet above sea level, and has 3,100 feet of Lake Michigan shore frontage. Arcadia Bluffs resembles a seaside links course, with rolling terrain, and windswept natural fescues throughout. Players will be reminded of their favorite holes at Lahinch and Ballybunion, while enjoying breathtaking views of Lake Michigan from all points on the majestic layout. A Warren Henderson/Rick Smith design, Arcadia Bluffs offers players a golfing experience unlike anything in the United States. In addition to the golf course, Arcadia Bluffs offers world-class lodging. The Lodge at Arcadia Bluffs opened in 2010, and offers 15 well-appointed guest rooms, April through October. The Lodge is available, for private and corporate bookings, the months of November and December as well. Exceptional personal service is the hallmark of The Lodge. The Dining Room at Arcadia Bluffs offers a casual atmosphere, with an upscale feel. Again, personal service is paramount in The Dining Room, and the exceptional cuisine provides a truly unforgettable dining experience, every time out. Dining on the deck is available in the summer season, and offers incredible panoramic views of the golf course and beautiful Lake Michigan. The setting is simply breathtaking. The outside Patio Bar offers a casual setting, with a more relaxed atmosphere and menu. As with the Dining Room and deck, the Patio Bar offers unmatched vistas with world-class service.

An incredible golf experience from the lodging to the food and golf. The level of service and attention to detail is unparalleled and I’ve been to many golf resorts. All of the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and a step or two above most places. Arcadia Bluffs is absolutely a bucket list place for any serious golfer.

Arcadia Bluffs is the real deal for excellent golf. Reminiscent of Whistling Straits, Bandon Dunes, and BallyBunion, the views are awesome and each hole could be a postcard. Set up for golf groups, you will not be disappointed if you take your buddies here.

We just spent two nights at The Bluffs Inn, and I played the South Course and The Bluffs Course. It’s neat to find something that makes such an impression and creates a lasting memory. This place was special. I’ve never seen anything like it. Looking at the course from our balcony you wouldn’t think you were in the US (see video). The course is maintained impeccably and it is a challenge. Expect a long day on the course as the pace is about 5 hours. I didn’t mind it at all because there is always a beautiful view to enjoy. If you come here make sure you play the Bluffs course. If I came again I’d play The Bluffs twice and skip the south course.

My wife and I enjoyed playing both the South and Bluff course. The South course was rather quiet on a Friday afternoon. We played it at a great pace. The Bluff course is beautiful. Being a off season, found both courses to be great value for top end course.

Beautiful setting and gorgeous course on Lake Michigan! We went the night before to enjoy the sunset dinner and the bagpipe player that happens from Thursday-Sunday evenings. It's too bad they don't offer more tee boxes for women. We hired a caddy and are very glad we did. We never lost a ball. No matter how you play it - it's a 5 hour round.

Playing Arcadia Bluffs was on my bucket list and surpassed my expectations. As if that wasn't enough, we broke down on the way, about a mile from the entrance. An SUV pulled up to see if he could help...it was Bill Shriver, the President of Arcadia Bluffs. He sent a van to take us and our luggage to our lodge. As if that wasn't enough, Bill stopped back by to make sure everything was alright.
Thank you, Bill, thank you Arcadia Bluffs!!

I’m really sorry to have to write this review based on the fact that this is one of my favorite golf courses of all time. We were just there this week and I’m not sure what happened to the greens but they are not up to spec. I played there last fall only 10 days after aeration and the greens were in better shape then than they were this week. I’m not sure if it’s a dry spring or aerating at the wrong time of year the spring but the greens are not smooth. There are spots of definite fatigue. My counsel would be to wait till this fall because I don’t believe they can restore them anytime soon because of hot weather. Good luck to the staff and I hope it doesn’t hurt their income but I’m gonna give them at least till next year before I would try to play again.

Is the green on Hole 13 falling into lake Michigan ? When we played there was a new green on the right. Also, what about hole 12, is the green in jeopardy of being eroded away?

We played the Bluffs course. I'm a 7 handicap and found it extremely difficult. The greens were hard and fast, balls run through the fairways. Hard to find a flat, level lie even when in the fairway. Wind can be and was a factor. Finally started to figure out the course by finishing with a par/birdie but still, this course would test anyone. First time playing it, learned a lot for next time. But who cares? We came for the view and experience, and that's what we got. Terrific setting along Lake Michigan. Can't wait to try the South course next time.
