We were fortunate in having decent weather - a little bit cloudy but not enough to hide the scenery. We did some light hiking around the top of the mountain. The main attraction at the top is the restaurant with a few basics, outdoor seating,...More

I guess this must be a lovely thing on a clear summer day but not in November/December and owners should be ashamed of charing ppl so much money knowing there wont be anything to see from the top. The ride I went to didn't even...More

we did the combined ferry from St Gilgen and the Shafbergbahn. Not cheap but a lovely day out. The views from the peak are breathtaking. I imagine it is breezy at the summit pretty much every day, but particularly so the day we visited, so...More

This is a great way to get to the top of the Schafberg where the 360 degree views are amazing. There are also places to eat once you are up there. Well worth the trip.

Magnificent views of many lakes and mountain tops. The train itself climbs slowly to the top.you can get down at a lower level and hike down though the thick forest .

The journey on the cog railway is a must when visiting St Wolfgang. It's not cheap but there are great 360 degree views when at the top. If you're lucky you might even get the steam engine on one, or both, of your journeys

The website says the train only goes part way up until May 11. If we book for May 15 can we be assured the train will go all the way to the top? Thank you!
