Kampong Phluk is a village about 35 kms from Siem Reap and is well worth visiting. The houses are perched 6 or 7 m high on stilts as the water levels of Tonle Sap rise in the wet season and villagers can no linger walk along the village street, but must travel by boat. I visited in the dry season... More

We went with the Tuk Tuk of our hotel. Indeed it is a bit bumpy, noisy etc but we enjoyed that part as we could nicely see the little villages along the road. The kids loved that. The Kompong Phluc village was very disappointing at this time of the year. We paid $50 for a family with 2 small kids... More

We booked this tour through our hotel and had a tuk-tuk ride out to Kompong Phluk (About 40 minutes.). When we got there we paid the $25.00 per person (there were 3 of us) for the tour and sunset on the lake. Since it only costs $20.00 to see all of Angkor Wat this felt like a rip-off to me.... More

Superb. Honestly, I had read negative reviews of Tara Boat Co but this trip could not have been better. Guide, So, and the driver were wonderful as were the two hard working young boatman. Kompong Phluk should be on everyone's list of must see as it absolutely fascinating. this is the dry season and I'm sure in the wet season... More

This was a really enjoyable trip. We booked through the hotel. They took us on a 30-45min drive (depending on where you’re staying) to Kompong Phluk on Tonlesap Lake. This is a BIG lake! Our hotel driver bought our tickets (approx. $20 for 4 people) and you get into a small boat, which then transfers you to another boat on... More

We arranged a tuk tuk through our hotel in Siem Reap for 15USD from 2pm to return after sunset (18kms each way takes almost an hour). The "big boat" was 25USD each. The small boat was 5USD each (optional). For a couple - we did not think the experience was quite worth 90USD. We went on this tour in the... More

My last visit for this floating village was on December. It's only about an hour away from Siem Reap by car. It was such a great experience. You could see daily life of people living on the floating houses. Especially, their daily routine. There are floating school, church, pagoda, restaurants, even crocodile farm is floating. Most likely everything float in... More

We took this day-tour in February with pretty low water, giving a view off the underside of the stilt houses bordering the lake. Like much of Cambodia it is subsistence living with no sanitation, but if you want a taste of real life you'll get it. After motoring down a narrow and shallow canal emptying into Tonle Sap, you'll transfer... More
