We traveled to Bamboo Island after overhearing about the place in the club. The place is almost totally wild and a highly recommended location for ones that love adventures. The accommodation and services are very few on the island, of course, but what you’ll get is a hundred percent clean beach, and vendor-free atmosphere. This is the most pleasantly adventurous... Visited Koh Ru on Bamboo Island for a matter of hours. Were booked to stay 2 nights but couldn't bear it. I've travelled all around the world, staying in backpacker, low,mid and high range accommodation, and this is the worst I've seen. After waiting for hours at the pier for no apparent reason we trundled in our wooden boat over... More

We stayed at Ko Ru bungalows for 1 night. We had intended to stay for more than 2 nights but we didn't enjoy ourselves. There is garbage all along the sandy beach, we even came across a needle of some kind. The wooden bungalow was $12 a night which was not worth it as we stayed a few nights before... More

Wow, what an amazing island. I can highly recommend coming here. Ok, so there's not much to do except for relaxing, reading, star gazing, snorkelling, eating, swimming.... Need I say more?! I spent 4 days here and I can't wait to go back for another unwinding blissful session....

We made this stop the night before we was planning to leave for Siem Reap and stayed on the island in order to energise before heading north again. However I truly wish, Id had know of its splendour before arranging to travel to the Temples at Angkor. Had I have know I would have stayed there for a couple of... More

A few bamboo huts, an overpriced bar, that's pretty much it. I went over on a daytrip expecting to do some snorkeling but the place was practically devoid of marine life (I went to the other side of the island as well). Also witnessed a French woman being attacked by a large dog owned by a group of Russian thugs.... More

A wonderful beachday with healthy lunch included (barbecued fish, rice, salad, soda, fruits). Great value for the excursion. Lack of animation during the trip on the boat so bring your own mp3 or a book to read. Not much to see under the water compared to Cuba. We prefered fishing, much more exciting. The crew provides the fishing kit (hook... More

We went to the Island initially for a couple of days to stay at Koh Ru, ending up being there for 9 days. Staff were great and the location could not be better. This is not the same for the day trippers who are on the other side of the island. I would say not to bother with that and... More
