Listen, there are a ton of tuk tuk drivers who can take you around Siem Reap, but instead of continuing to research, just make your life easier and book with Mr. Kat. You won't regret it. I always do a lot of research (spreadsheets, combing reviews, reading blogs, etc) and Mr. Kat was really one of the best decisions I made when planning our trip to Siem Reap. He's so extremely responsive. He clearly works so hard because he's working all hours and will still respond very quickly to your messages on Whats App. He will make very detailed itineraries and will adjust based on your needs. For example, we told him we already booked a separate tour to hit some of the more popular temples in the small circuit, and that we wanted to go to a temple with great sunset views. He adjusted his itinerary and made great suggestions to fit our needs. In addition, our flight was changed at the very last minute which put us in later than expected. Mr. Kat was able to adjust very quickly and still make great suggestions to ensure we saw everything we wanted. He always had cold towels which were a huge lifesaver, and cold drinks as well. He is so friendly and professional. One day we got stuck at a temple with a downpour and he coordinated with our guide (more on that below) to meet us with umbrellas, and then zipped up his tuk tuk to make sure we weren't affected as he drove us in the pouring rain. On a longer trip to Banteay Srei he made suggestions on places we could stop, but didn't push us if we weren't interested. He truly just cared that we had a great experience. I would recommend him to anyone. Most of the guides cost the same and they're all reasonable, but you will not regret booking with Mr. Kat.
In addition, we really wanted to make the most out of our experience visiting the temples. Although Mr. Kat has a wealth of knowledge, he isn't an official guide and doesn't normally accompany you to the inside of the temples. However, he did recommend a fantastic guide when we asked - Mr. Sorn. Mr. Sorn accompanied us to all of the temples. Without him, a lot of the temples would blur together, but he gave us so much history and context that we really appreciated. Also, a lot of the temples are easy to get lost in, where you'll either miss a few things or get turned around very easily. Mr. Sorn was the most efficient and thorough way to really appreciate what you're seeing. He also is so experienced he knew exactly where to get the best photos and always offered to take some of us, which I really appreciated. You traveled all this way, you should really get the most of your trip. Mr. Sorn was worth the extra cost and more. He's also so kind and knowledgeable as well. He and Mr. Kat were a great team. Truly an excellent experience and I would recommend both to make the absolute most of your time.

I had a one-day tour with my friend around Angkor Wat and Siem Reap from 4:30 AM to 4:00 PM. It was an amazing experience, and a big part of it was thanks to Mr. Kat, our tuk-tuk driver.
Mr. Kat is a great driver – I always felt safe riding with him. He was also very punctual, arriving on time in the morning and always ready to pick us up after each stop. During the trip, he told us many interesting stories and shared information that I couldn’t find on the internet. He also gave the best recommendations, like where to take the perfect photo and how to explore each temple in the best way.
Halfway through the day, he recommended an amazing place for a traditional Khmer lunch near the temples. The food was delicious, and we even invited Mr. Kat to join us. It was a wonderful meal together, and we really enjoyed spending time with him.
His English is excellent, and talking with him was a pleasure. He is a kind, honest, and warm person, and he really cares about his guests. His tuk-tuk is very clean and even has a special place for cold drinks!
Communication with him was super easy – he replied very fast on WhatsApp. The price for the whole day was the same as most drivers in Siem Reap, but his service was much better than expected. He also helped us find a good bus to the airport, which made our travel even easier.
It was a perfect day, and choosing Mr. Kat as our driver was the best decision!
P.S. If you have time, I recommend doing a 2-day tour instead of 1. The best time to visit is early morning until around 12 PM, when the weather is cooler. I only had 1 day, and in the afternoon, it was around 30°C, but Mr. Kat was so thoughtful – he prepared cold towels for us, which really helped in the heat!

Dear Ms. Marta K,
I really appreciate the kind words from your review. Thank you. Safety is very important while you're on a trip. Not only transportation but where you eat is very important as well for obvious reasons. Please know that I do not get any kickback from my restaurant recommendations but only want to make sure my customers stay healthy during their trip.
I am happy to hear you enjoyed your trip. I am always here if you have any additional questions from your trip. Take care, Mr. Kat, WhatsApp +855 10 682 710.

My partner and I used a private tuk tuk with Mr Kat for two days and highly recommend him. He is super friendly, knowledgeable, punctual, and responsive with WhatsApp. He speaks great English and knows the history of the temple complex and is eager to talk about the history of the temples and Cambodia in general. For the first day, Mr. Kat helped us coordinate an English speaking guide to go into the temples with us (Mr. Cat can’t technically enter since he’s not a licensed guide, even though he knows a ton about them all) and Mr. Kat drove us around. We went with the itinerary Mr. Kat suggested and were so glad we did because it took a ton of planning pressure off of us, and he knows exactly how to beat the crowds at each location and get the best lighting for pictures. On our second day, we did sunrise at Angkor Wat and were the first ones to enter the complex and get the best spot at the southern pond. We then drove around in the morning to some of the temples we saw the day before that we wanted more time at and beat the crowds, then we did the grand circuit. Mr. Kat was able to totally improvise itineraries with us and tailored his recommendations to things he could tell we liked. On top of all of this, he’s the nicest guy, and he always has cold water and cold towels for you after visiting the hot temples. The towels are soaked in some sort of menthol oil that are so nice and refreshing, it was seriously a top tier extra. He charged $57 total for the 2 days (not including the guide on day 1) which was more than worth it. Book with Mr. Kat, you won’t regret it!!

I usually do not write reviews, but this experience was beyond great. I did a hail mary contacting Mr. Kat late in the evening the night befor we should visit Angkor. He was quick to answer and said he could take us on a Tour, and no problem picking us up at the hotel at 4 am for the sunrise at Angkor Wat.
He say he is just a Tuk Tuk driver, but he is way more than that. First of all he set up the itinerary to avoid the crowds, he guides us efficiently to the best spot for watching the sunrise at Angkor. He literally picked the single best spot by the points. 50 cm to the right/left would have trees blokking the view. Mr. Kat speak English very well and for every stop we made he gave us an introduction of each temple, including where we should walk and what make each individual temple special and distinct from the others. Included in the $30 for the whole day tour (small circuit) he had his Tuk Tuk loaded with cold water, a can of soda per person and cold mentol-infused towels to wipe the sweat of our faces. He also had a guidebook if we would like to get more information about the temples.
Mr. Kat was fantastic, he is so genuine and really care about his guests having a great time. He never rushed us or pushed us to hurry up. He was more than happy to answer questions about Angkor, life in Camboida, the country’s history. I genuinly think he made the whole difference for our visit in Angkor taking it from a good to a fantastic experience. I truly recommend everyone booking Mr. Kat if going to Angkor.

We just had a perfect 4-day tour in Siem Reap thanks to Mr. Kat. He is a very good driver, attentive and kind. We always felt very safe in his care, even before traveling when we reached him through WhatsApp, as he provided us with information about his service and about visiting Angkor Wat. During the trip he was always calm, friendly and provided knowledge about the city that only locals would know. He followed the itinerary we planned and also offered insight when needed. He did extra nice things such as offering to take pictures of us and guided us to the best photo spots, including a secluded place near Phnom Krom where we watched the most beautiful sunset. The complimentary cold towels and soft drinks he thoughtfully prepared helped to better endure the heat. He truly made us feel welcomed and taken care of in Siem Reap.

Mr. Kat was fantastic from the moment I messaged him. He had lots of good advice and suggestions which was useful when putting together our itinerary. When we arrived in Cambodia he was always early, had plenty of cold water and towels for us (included in the cost). He knew how to avoid the crowds for the more poplar temples. Mr. Kat drives the tuk-tuk and his partner (also very nice) drives a van for sights further away; both were safe drivers. Mr. Kat offers fantastic service at competitive prices - so I can definitely recommend him for anyone visiting Siem Reap, the areas many temples and for day trips further away from town. Thanks so much Mr. Kat for such a fantastic 7-day tour of the Siem Reap area!

Contacting Mr Kat on Whatsapp is the best thing for anyone planning a visit. It was our first time to Cambodia, so mixed in with our excitement was a touch of nervousness about what to expect. Mr Kat is patient and takes the time to propose detailed itineraries based on our interests and ability (some temples require a lot of climbing). He is never pushy, and he listens carefully to our input, making sure we are comfortable. In the end, we opted for two half-day tours of the temples, starting early in the day and ending with lunch. We didn't hire a guide as we like to explore places on our own, so we were lucky that Mr Kat knows how to beat the crowds, the best routes and the best spots for photos and viewing angles that would give you the best memories of Angkor Wat. Mr Kat would humbly say that he is not a professional guide, but he gave us such a good briefing for each temple that we did not feel like we were missing out. With his warmth, attentiveness and professionalism, Mr Kat is such a wonderful ambassador for Siem Reap. Book him early if you can.

So glad we found Mr Kat! Found his name on reddit and followed over to trip advisor to book him. I didn't really know exactly what to see when, or how, but he guided us expertly between the many tourist sights telling us where to go and using a great guidebook which we used as we walked through. We thought we would try to see the sunrise over Angkor and Mr Kat expertly started us early and led us to the exact spot and we were at the very front of the crowd of people with the best view! Throughout, he was so thoughtful with water and drinks and cold towels and was so helpful, especially because we made our trip with two young children! He timed our stops so that we were almost alone going through a majority of the temples We had a weird half-day at the end of the trip and he was able to give us options and help us not miss anything we wanted to see! We highly recommend getting in contact and reserving him for your future trip!

I don't usually travel solo to other countries so I decided hiring a private tuk tuk driver would help my solo trip to Siem Reap. I chose Kat because his customer reviews were lengthy and detailed while other tuk tuk drivers had short reviews which made me suspicious that people were asked to leave a review. In other words, Kat's reviews felt genuine by the writers because they took a lot of time to write about him.
Kat was amazing from the start. Via What'sApp he takes down how many days you will be visiting the area and then comes up with a general itinerary to see the various sites (and includes recommended times to visit the sites). However, I was able to then tailor things to my exact interests - for example, I asked to skip a couple of museums and instead visit a couple of breweries I found online. Kat and you work back and forth to get the itinerary exactly the way you want it which made me feel great about what I was going to see. It's not just some general itinerary where you move from place to place with masses of people.
He also has been doing this for over 12 years so he knows how to time the visits to the temples. Typically I was the only one at most of the temples (or just a few other people were there). He even has a time to visit the most visited temples of all - Angkor Wat - as he knows specifically the gap of time when some tour buses take people back to their hotel and when others arrive. Visiting most of the temples without the crowds is a huge plus.
Kat's English is good. He will give you tid-bits of history and things to see in each temple that he has picked up over the 12 years he's been doing this. I did not find the need to hire an additional guide because Kat provided me the information I needed for the visit.
Lastly, he's an honest and hard working person who is supporting his mom and nephews in their Siem Reap home. Given that I was wary of being in Cambodia on my own, Kat's honesty was refreshing.
If you are going to Siem Reap - hire Kat for your tuk tuk needs. You will not be disappointed and you pay a very fair price for what you will be seeing. Hire Kat and you'll enjoy him so much that soon you'll be writing your own personal, long, positive review about him too. :)

Mr. Kat was an exceptionally thoughtful, kind, knowledgeable guide for our short stay in Siem Reap. We could not have been happier with his assistance! He provided detailed information about the many temples, gates, and local customs; we wandered. He knew the best times to arrive for the least crowded, best viewing opportunities (note the picture-perfect shot of Angkor Wat at dawn. To say 1500 people were crowded behind our ‘front row seating’ is not an exaggeration. Likewise we stood nearly alone watching the sun rise above Angkor Wat the next day—a hidden gem!) He was always prompt, right there wherever we stumbled out of a temple, generously considerate with cold washcloths and bottled water, both fastidious with his care and easy going. To imagine that he repeats these visits over and over (I asked and he told me he was making 4 dawn visits to Angkor Wat the week we were there) makes me think he has the patience of a saint—treating us with a courtesy and gentle enthusiasm as if we were his first and only customers. I could not give a higher recommendation.

Dear Ms. Sandra W,
I am so happy to hear you have enjoyed the sunrise experience. Yes, it can get quite busy so getting there ahead of everybody else can be beneficial. Happy to know it was a good experience. I was born and raised here in Siem Reap so I know the customs, the roads, and the stories very well.
