See it by kayak

These are 2 of the less known glaciers. They are best seen by kayak. Fortunately, we had great weather and were able to see both.

Sadly what should have been a highlight of our time in Puerto Natales was ruined by terrible weather conditions (high winds and rough sea). After about an hour and a half of very rough seas and a majority of passengers being sea sick the captain wisely decided that he should abandon the trip. We got a full refund but had... More

Only can see from a boat but worth the ride. Leave from Puerto Natales and cruise the Chilean Fjords.

Balmaceda is very interesting due to its deep blue color and the nature of where it sits on a rocky outcrop at sea. Serrano is much larger and spectacular. Both highlights of the trip. If approaching Balmaceda by sea, look for the "Horns" to your right as you approach. Many people are so focused on the glacier that they miss... More

Really, the views of the Glaciers were exceedingly awesome! The boat ride was enjoyable (inside the heated lower deck) and adventurous ( the spray was forceful to knock one down if not supported by the hand rails). The trip started with a heavy sea, but the weather improved after an hour or so to make it possible to trek to... More

Don´t let the opportunity of sailing the Patagonia fjords slip away. This full day excursion was a fantastic way of seeing one of the largest and less known parks of South America: Bernardo O´Higgins National Park. There were 2 main companies that provide this excursion; both have headquarters in the town of Puerto Natales and can be hired with 24... More

We took the combination boat trip with "21 de Mayo" to see these two Glaciers.we started out on a boat that went up through the fjords leaving from Puerto Natales on an overcast day. On a clear day, you get a great view of Torres del Paine right at the end, but given the weather, it was not to be... More

My husband and I took a boat tour to see these two glaciers. It was an all day tour and included a lamb lunch at a small cute farm. To see Serrano glacier you get to take a short 30 minute hike in Bernardo O'Higgens National Park. You must take a boat to get there. Balmaceda glacier we saw on... More

After having visited "Torres del Paine" it was only mediocre. Nothing really spectacular. During the boat trip, there is nothing around, which could be described as "stunning scenery" (compared to torres del paine). And you can not get very close to the glacier it self. On top It was also really expensiv!

After visiting the Glaciar Perito Moreno, it is difficult to find another one like it. but the tour we took to visit it was nice, though you stay a long time in the boat... the lunch they offered in a nice cottage house was very delicious.
