Museo Magellan has some interesting things of Magellan and the rooms inside have a look from that time period. It is worth checking out.

Punta Arena's history is perfectly depicted with this mansion, built in the early twentieth century by the french architect Antoine Beaulier.

This is a free museum / heritage site that has been restored and is setting up for more improvements. If you want a lot of good information about the area and how Punta Arenas got started, you can't overlook the wool baron that helped create the city.

Some neat info on local/regional history. Worth a quick visit if you have a couple hours to burn but not worth going out of your way to see unless you want to have a good chuckle at some pretty botched embalming jobs on condors and other regional fauna.

Most of the upstairs showing the rooms and the furnishings of this... More

This museum started out as a mansion but was transformed into a museum. It show the life of the family. You can see the progress economically, socially and how people were influnced durning that time. It is an interesting history of this area in Patagonia.

The museum has wide variety of exhibits including both nature and history of Punta Arenas and Patagonia in General. This is the must-to-see museum to learn about Patagonia.
