We like this simple statue/monument. It tells so much so beautifully of the people who settled this part of Chile and helped make the country what it is today.

I enjoyed the monument but only because I was taken there by the guide. If given the chance to tour on my own, I’d probably not have visited. I recommend stopping if it’s on the way but not making a special trip to see it.

By interactive, I don't mean it moves. I mean people climb all over it for their pictures. Most of the status in Punta Arenas are interactive. Just look for where the bronze is all shiny, and you will know what to do. In the case...More

This was the starting point for our walking tour of Punta Arenas. Nice monument to the shepards who made a large contribution to the early settling of the region. If making this tour or just walking around dress in layers. It was cold and windy...More

This statue is a very good essence of the Patagonian landscape. The sheep is one of the few visible inhabitants of the Pampas, so naturally, the shepherd used to be a very popular occupation. The statue is very interesting and there are plenty of possibilities...More

It is a neat statue. Near the cemetary or if you walk to the pier you will probably pass it like us. Great for photos. Sturdy statues for great pictures on a horse or sheep

I probably wouldnt recommend walking out to see it unless you are doing other things in the area. But i found it interesting to see. There was also a large Xmas tree very close by which was a bonus

This ststue/monument is just outside the Cementry, north west of it, roughly. It makes for funny pictures, and it seems to be designed and intended for people to hop on top of the donkey, so don't be shy :)

Our guide brought us here after we visited the Municipal Cemetary. It's worth a short walk and if you're interested in what made Punta Arenas'economy work, then sheep and shepherds are part of the story. It's near a Christmas Tree too. Oh one thing you...More

This is off one of the main roads along the coast, its a quick visit and cool for photo ops. It does give you a feel for the original explorers. Dont worry if you do not see it.
