Located on the waterfront this is a monument to the first settlers to the area who arrived on the Ancud (a replica is in the Nao Victoria museum)

Enjoy walking along the Straits of Magellan and seeing monumental soaring statues, realistic murals, and humbling memorials to the early residents of this starkly beautiful location.

... me of the monument to the navigators in Lisbon, though smaller, not quite as spectacular and in memory of a specific crew...

I bumped into this monument at sunset while having an evening stroll down to the Strait and was very impressed with the appearance and illumination.

The history depicted by the statue is significant and worth telling by a local guide. Wish the fountain was full of water - ugly without it! The surrounding walking and cycling path asking the coastline is with the visit.

went to see this site in the day time (lights were not own and there was no water in the pool). It's an OK site to visit and just happened to be in the path of our walk/tour for the day.

I'm not an artist, but for me this sculpture is completely nonsense. Does not represent much and it is not even beautiful.

This is a pleasant waterfront stroll. Statues, old piers, flocks of birds, colorful buildings, and ships at sea provide a pleasant backdrop.
