The gardens were absolutely beautiful. I was one of the first people inside the garden at opening time, so it was peaceful and quiet. I highly recommend going early so as to get photos without tourists in the background. The architecture and gardening was stunning.

Very busy area packed with tourists but certainly worth a visit. The zig zag bridge to and from the tea house was amazing. The gardens with rock formations and beautiful trees is worth the hassle through the crowds. The history of each building was explained...More

Had a day travelling around the 'Garden' and while it was enjoyable - there isn't much greenery. For a taste of a typical Chinese location (absolutely bursting at the seams with tourists) in a old-worlde setting, it really is fantastic. BUt you better like crowds.

Not a lot to see, small, many better things to see surrounding it. In the middle of the Island and near the beach.

For 30CNY you get into garden with couple of nice sceneries, buildings and sculptures. Took me about 50 minutes to fully explore, plenty opportunities to take nice pictures. There is a temple nearby so make sure to visit both both once you are at yuyuan.

Yuyuan Gardens are a must in Shanghai City. Go early, and take your time to enjoy the designs. Spring is particularly lovely.
