We loved this. The kids enjoyed the walk to the top of the crater and down into it. I was surprised they both made it all the way without complaining. There were lots of things to look at and this center uses every opportunity to educate its visitors about volcanos.

Interesting displays of local culture as well as a breathtaking view from the top. There is a temple and teashop midway up to the top. A good place to take a break and watch the pilgrims offer incense to the volcano gods

One of the interesting places to visit in Haikou. The volcano crater is covered by trees and greens yet still visible, while there are areas displaying the volcanic rock formations from cooled lava. You can also have a good view of the Haikou harbor atop the hill (222 meters height). Take a hike!

Beautifully landscaped. Educational trip all about volcanoes. Beautiful butterflies. Strange and fantastic lava formation sculptures. Good exercise all the way to the top of the crater. Breath taking view of Haikou from the top all the way to mainland. The crater can be entered by steep steps. The restaurants offer mountain goat, chicken and boar meat with mountain coffee beans.... Because Haikou has not much interesting places to visit - this is at least one somehow acceptable. It's an old vulcano ctater taken over by vegetation. Some old lava flow around. Almost everything build there is made of lava material. It takes you max. 1 hour, then you feel it's enough and want to leave.

We went to this attraction as part of a 1 day tour I arranged. It was clearly a significant local attraction, and the grounds were nice enough - but it was nothing that I would seek out. It was a small park, with a small volcano, the level of tourists there tells me that there are slim pickings when it... More

This attraction seems to be a favorite amongst locals as it was quite crowded at the time we were there. Overall it’s a good day out for the family – good treks, good views of Haikou from the Top but the main attraction, the volcano area itself isn’t too grand. I was expecting more information available in English, which wasn’t... More

The best attraction I have at Haikou (though I probably have not seen all). Good information and easy walking to the top.

It's located pretty far from Haikou city, to reach it first you need to go to the Haikou South Bus Station, from there cross the road then take a blue bus that leads you to the place (Yes you need to be able to converse in chinese to ask for which bus). after they drop you in an intersection, try...
