Not recommended if you're expecting a spiritual experience; from the entrance onwards lots of shops selling knick- knacks. You can even line up to pay to be a few steps closer to the main statue of the buddha.

1. Beautiful Kuan Im Pouw Sat 2. Believe or not, my friend (he had stroke) can walk faster after visited this temple. 3. Believe or not, 108m Guan Yin statue built for the purpose to prevent typhon.

This statue was erected to stop the bay from receiving lashings from vicious typhoons. The locals covet this statue. Don't forget deer park if you're in a romantic mood, or is it called lovers somethingorother..... Bring a lock!

An option is the local municipal bus. Bus # 25 starts from Yalong Bay and ends at Nanshan temple. The ride is about 2.5 hours one way though. Check with hotel concierge about the nearest bus stop.
