Good place to visit if you have some spare time, but it is a bit artificial. Would suggest to visit some of the other wilderness areas rather.

Pigeon Nest Park is a partially artificial but well appointed area adjacent to the surrounding wetlands. It seems to serve well to corral humanity into a controlled area thereby preventing us from tramping all over the wetlands proper. A great idea! The park covers a large area and you can easily spend a day walking around it. Part of the tree covered area is filled with artificial birdsong and I'm not sure if it is to attract other birdlife, which it failed to do when we were there, or if it is supposed to add t the general ambience; either way, it's not as annoying as you think it might be! You do need to buy a ticket to get into the park but it's not expensive and you can stay all day you want. The #34 bus will take you from Qinghuangdao station and Yingbin Road out to Beidaihe and the Wetlands for a mere 2 yuan per person. It takes about half an hour.

I enjoyed this part of BeiDaHe in Qinhuangdao. Lots of great photo opportunities, beautiful flowers and clean sea air. A nice place for a stroll or a calm place to sit and soak it all up.

Did not enjoy this attraction that much or as much as the other things in Qinhuangdao. Could not really figure out what the fuss is about. If you just want to go for a walk then I suppose it is a good location, if you want to see Chinese history then consider another attraction.

Nice scenic area for an afternoon visit. Didn't like the small areas animals were being confined in.

If you can spare a day from your beach relaxation, this is a good place to visit. Quite small but with a great view of the ocean, which inspired Chairman Mao to write his famed poem 'Beidaihe'. If you like to see sunrise, this is the best place to go.

The view was nice. Great in summer. We could not see the sunrise which this place is famous for. Great place to hang out and chill to escape the summer heat.

We came at late afternoon and bought tickets to go for sunset shots. We then realised that actually it is famous for sunrise only. We asked and actually got refund of our four tickets. We did not go the next morning for sunrise photos as we went further out to a place round the corner in our car. But the park does provide an excellent location for sunrise shots, especially as they have a pavilion for foreground.

We were there in low season and can get a sense of how thriving it must be when busy. However there is something really nice about being there in March when it is quiet on a beautiful day. The sights are great and we will definitely return.

All of the Chinese sites refer to this place as Dove Nest Park. Perhaps a name change on Trip Advisor is called for?
Written August 12, 2016
I agree. It is a good idea to avoid confusion. Sometimes transliteration creates confusion. It is indeed Dove's nest park.
