A photo stop - pagoda-like tower in a plaza. Nothing to really shout about. The surrounding area has good shopping and eateries. Especially interesting is a Taiwanese-like "eating street".

Although it is the memorial of the Erqi Strike (二七大罢工), which occurred on February 7, 1923, the building looks too modern. I would rate it a "one star" out of a scale of 1-5.

Good place to watch the locals, get a bite to eat or go shopping. Pretty at night. Even a Taiwan food area with about 50 restaurants. Near subway as well. I'm not sure how much to do in zhengzhou, but if you are near the min railway station, best to saunter on by.

At night, these towers really look impressive from a distance as they are well illuminated and dominate the skyline. However, up close, they really are just ugly, concrete blocks made to look like pagodas. In the day time, they really are very dull. You can go up the towers, but I didn't bother. I'm Zhengzhou looks the same from 30... More

It's there that's about all I can say of the tower. It's not in good condition, not very well kept. At night, the Christmasesque lights around it make it photo worthy. The shopping street is pretty fun, but I would not go out of my way to see the tower, personally.

Erqi Strike Monument Tower is a sign building of Zhengzhou. There are telescopes on the top. What attract tourists most is commercial malls in the neighborhood.

By comparison, I guess the Erqi monument is not too striking now. The story behind this though, was that when it was built, the twin towers were the tallest monuments in the area. Right now, they are rather dwarved by the surrounding shopping malls. Good to see for 5 minutes and better if you know about this back story. Otherwise,... More

The tower is located in part of a large pedestrian plaza area with many shops and restaurants (MacDonalds etc too). The tower itself is a useful landmark to help find your way back to the hotel

A place to go if you are in zhengzhou. But if you travel around China don't wast your time here :p erqi tower and cbd are the main spots in zhengzhou :) do not just stay on the main road :)
