I really enjoyed my visit to this archaeological site. I love Chinese history so thats a good reason to visit the earliest known dynasty's walled ruins. Though Henan province and the surroundings of Zhengzhou have many historical & cultural attractions to keep all China/history buffs requited, the city itself has few such attractions (aside the museums). Despite all of the construction work these 2000 year old ruins still exist and are worth checking out just to get a tiny insight into Chinese life. Children love playing here; couples meet in secret; locals have heated discussions and clearly BBQ plus snack food are consumed. Access the ruins from Shangcheng Lu and there are steps to the top... What's left of the Shang-period walls surrounding the ancient city of Zhengzhou are interesting to walk along, primarily because you are walking on such old history. A section of the wall is fenced off so you can easily visualize what it might have looked like when it was 30 meters tall. It was interesting to look down on old building... More
