The street is beautiful and unique, but currently there is a lot of scaffolding hiding some of the buildings, still worth checking out though.

This was great for just walking with friends and seeing new and different things. It's so different from other parts of China. I found this area very interesting.

Wonderful street to walk along and sample some local eats. We fell in love with some of the pastries and went back for seconds!

We walked around the area and it was mostly food stalls with a repetitive selection of baked goods and a tasty smelling tripe and coriander soup. Most of the local food stalls looked quite dirty. We tried a Xinjiang style noodle dish which is one of my favorites, qingjiaogaijiaomian, worst I've ever had in China...

This is a very interesting area to stroll. The mixture of culture is great, there are many shops and food stalls. I bought and ate pastries and nuts, they were inexpensive and delicious. The people are friendly and approachable and the architecture is nice.

This area of town stands out and has some cachet of sorts, though it is not really beautiful. Not very far from the main temples.

Went here to find halal food and this is the street for you. Halal beef jerkey shop and sweet and pastries to my liking. Tried this interesting drink and it was very nice. Lovely and friendly shop owners. Definitely Recommended

I really liked the mix of culture, had only seen it in Xi'an previously and loved the many food shops lining the street. If you have some time to spend in the city definately make the time for a wander. The locals are really friendly.

Interesting, this street is exactly in the Chinese province of Inner Mongolia. Nice to walk along the street and see the architecture. A different sight in this city of Hohhot. Lots of Halal food to be found in this area and cheap fruits found in this area.

Often in China things have a certain Disneyland nature to them- it was only build in the last 15 years and the people there are not living there, just actors selling kitsch in the tourism industry. This was authentic, with people who live and work there. Great restaurants, butchers with sheep and cow carcasses in the window, bakers making flatbread... More
