Lots to do

Quite crowded at times but there's a bit of everything here. Food, drink, historical places to visit and good atmosphere.

We walked down the street and explored the curio shops and restaurants(which were few and far between and smelt of old oil) The shops were not so busy so we could look around inside but there where a lot of shops flogging the same wares, so it became boring. When we tried to find something to eat, we were greeted... More

Maybe it was the time of day I went, but I went in the afternoon and it was incredibly crowded. I couldn't even move through at some points because I was squished by people on all sides of me. They do sell street food as well as trinkets and there are restaurants but I thought they were unreasonably priced.

Lots of little stores, some with junk others with nicer pieces. There are clothes, souvenirs, and tea. Lots of little bars, I recommend the echo bar. Huge range of cocktails. When we were there they had a fantastic band and it was great to escape the very popular karaoke. Lots of lovely Street food options. A cool and pretty little... More

This was the place I liked most in Suzhou, really feel like an ancient time. Even though it could be crowded at time, there're lots of things to see and do (shop handmade stuffs, restaurants). I stayed there till sunset and it's amazing

This street is like stepping back in time, especially the walk to Tiger Hill. Several temples worth a quick stop. The upper parts of Shantang St has old shops, small run down buildings. Big contrast from modern Suzhou. Culturally a great experience

Take a boat ride down the canals very interesting to see how they lived and still do live. They call it the Venice of the East - that would be putting it too highly but very interesting and seeing the old buildings and add ons. Once off the boat go into the back streets the best dumplings I have ever... More

Been there on 03.12.2016 after the Tiger Hill visit. Feel very pack and crowded at this area. There is boat ride in this area that make it special and other than that, nothing is interesting. Shops are very much the same as it is selling almost the same food. Be alert at this area because many motorcycle speeding at the... More

There are several streets of this type, running along the canals. The canals are very picturesque, and the streets full of shops and restaursnts
