Sad what the Japanese did to Chinese and Korean soldiers and patriots. The torture room and hanging room are not for the squeamish. But it needs to be seen and not swept under the carpet. Besides the large jail there are historical displays of the...More

This is the site of a Russian/Japanese prison, with plenty of explanation as to what you are looking at. A lot of the exhibitions were of aspects of life in China few people in the west are aware of. Well worth a visit and the...More

It's a sober and serious but otherwise inspiring attraction, taking you back to another era, not too distant, when Japan and Russia fought over this piece of China.

We visited this place recently. It's in Lushun, about an hour cab drive from our hotel in center of Dalian. If you like history, we recommend you pay a visit here. Interesting place that you feel the weight of history and war.

Good visit and worthy for an entire afternoon, specially if you are interested in history (Manchurian period in China). The serenity and air of the past prison cells reminded me of my similar visit to the concentration camp in Dachau, Germany, except this was a...More

Well maintained, informative although somber place. Like many similar sites, not for kids or faint of heart. Go there on a sunny day to lesser the impact of tragedies, which these walls witnessed.

To be quite honest, I knew nothing of the history from this time period. We visiting on a cold, grey day in December, and it was not a pleasant place -- cold and dark. You really got the feel of how miserable it must have...More
