To really see everything in this museum would take at least 3 days. There is so much information from beginning of time till today's advanced financial instruments. It is a great place to visit and it shows clearly how worthless fiat money can be. There is just so much fiat money around and this change with the ruling power of... More

The financial museum incorporates a few different exhibitions in a number of rooms and floors. There's the small exhibition of the history of the building itself as the Frontier back established in 1960's (and Zhang Xuenliang's personal bank) . Then there's the history of currency from the Jin period through to credit cards.  Then there's the history of money or... More

I was sure this would be a Museum with just a few small exhibits and outdated. Boy, was I wrong. Their large collections of world coins and currency shocked me. They had a lot of really nice exhibits and nothing was boring. I generally go through museums quickly, but I spent an hour and a half to two hours here!... More

This museum is very thorough and detailed, you can walk through the vaults and they even have the old bank preserved with wax people on display to give you a great visual of banking life many years ago. The only thing i didn't like about this museum was that there was very little in english so we missed out on... More

As you walk into this museum, you are immediately hit with a bank filled with life size wax figures portraying the normal banking day during the 1930's. This is a very impressive display and from afar, looks look real people inside a bank in historical time. After you go through this "fake" bank, you will go into different chambers to... More

The lobby is full of fairly realistic looking wax people who are dressed in old fashioned clothing. The museum was more extensive than my interest in the topic but I liked the two sided glass panes that you can see almost all of the currencies in the world from both sides of the bills.

If you are visiting the residence Zhang Zuolin then with a full ticket you get to see this place also. It is a replica of a bank in old days. It is nice and you should definitely visit this place if you are anywhere near Gugong (Imperial Palace) or residence of Zhang Zuolin.

Set in the former Frontier Bank building this museum tells the story of money in China as it emerged from an imperial federal system to a more westernized banking system. The original service area is preserved and populated with figurines making the room appear to be a thriving 1930's bank. The tour progresses to the vaults and on through six... More
