The May Fourth Square monument looks slightly different when you view it from different angles, although it may give the impression that it doesn't. Combine visiting this with the Olympic Sailing Centre & the many gift shops scattered around for an after-dinner stroll. Thereafter, it'd...More

May Fourth Square is really nice for a walk after dinner. The lighting is quite spectacular. You can also head down the boardwalk to peruse the various trinkets for sale. Make sure you haggle!

May Fourth Square is located in a western part of Qingdao. It’s a great place to walk and there are a couple of great restaurants right near the square! Make sure you see it at night when it and the area is all lit up!

This is an interesting sculpture to see, but there is really little else to see, except the Park, walk along the waterfront and of course the Olympic Yachting area. It is still crowded with local tourists

The statue was great, a good meaningful memorial to those who participated in the May 4th Movement. Other than that, it was a truly depressing sight. The whole area was built for the 2008 Olympics. Since then, they haven't really bothered to do any maintenance...More

Since this sculpture is the symbol of Qingdao, also can be seen on Qingdao beer glasses we visited the square. Huge place with many people, but clean and nice atmosphere.

Perhaps neat to see once, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit here. The legacy of the May 4th movement is lost on me... it would have been nice to have an english placard somewhere explaining the significance of this day.

We came here for a stroll hoping to get a coffee somewhere but there is nothing other than tourist tat shops (beaded bags, shells etc.) all selling the same stuff. The monument is exactly as the photo's show - you gain nothing from seeing it...More

Huge, bast seaside communal park. Good place for stroll and workout in the korning or evening. Crowded with people in the weekend and evening .

The sculpture represents the Cultural Revolution Change .... like the wind bringing change. Visitors of all ages have their pictures taken with this sculpture and the sea as a backdrop. Surrounding this sculpture are public parks.
