Free of entrance but you will definitely spend money here! Everything is so exotic to foreigners! A place must visit!

With much anticipation, we thought it would be a bazaar like the one in Istanbul or Marrakech but it turned out to be rather small with limited variety as well. However if you are interested in dried fruits, silk scarves, etc. they have plenty. Like...More

You can buy all kinds of native/local crafts in this central market/shopping plaza. It could be busy during the weekend and holidays. The central tower inside the market costs ¥50 to go up, which is expensive but offers an excellent view of this city.

Grand Bazar Spent about two hours in the area, and found the shopping initially interesting but it quickly became repetitive. Therefore I went on to explore the nearby street shops and gained a fair experience of what locals eat for food and shop for in...More

This is both local and international shopping centre. Certain things are very pricey for a tourist especially if you don't speak either mandarin or Uyghur. No English speakers in any shops. However, Russian speakers are easier to find. The place is huge and easy to...More

Several Malls adjacent to one another. Part of the thrill is in the haggling. Except that they do not speak any languages other than local Urumqi language and mandating. It is pale when compared to the bazaar in Istanbul. The open space/square has some local...More

This is a totally skippable tourist attraction selling mediocre souvenirs and overpriced dry fruits. Combine it with some other activity in the area and budget 15 minutes to walk through it.

I am sure I recalled seeing them, but i doubt they were good quality. Not in the Bazaar area anyway. There is a more affluent part to Urumqi... Maybe better quality there.
