Be surprised as to what you find in this private museum Silicified woods, rare Fergana horses, meteorites and most remarkable the horses paintings.

There many collection in this museum, historical relics, display of ancient corpses, exhibition relating to folk customs and 12 minorities that live in Xinjiang. There is just alot to see and information to digest. Everything was display beautifully and neatly.

Quite a nice surprise. The museum lays out everything about the region in terms of geography, geology, history and culture. The sections on Silk Road and Uyghur culture are most interesting. It gives a comprehensive introduction to the whole region.

I visited the museum a couple of times in five days because there's a lot to see about the regional cultures. It actually is a small museum but there really is a lot to see and read. Most of the display descriptions are in English...More

This modern and well laid out museum is a great introduction to Uyghur history and culture. A highlight was definitely the mummified corpses which were amazingly preserved in the desert climate.
