We went to this as we were exploring Tianyi Square and wouldn't recommend a special trip to see it on it's own. From Tianyi it's not far, only about 5 minutes, and there is a really good local mall/market area right across from it where you can buy from locals (yes it's old and rundown, but the people are great... A lovely old pagoda that's been trough much. It is just a pity that they have surrounded it with an awful mall... I know that in China old meets new but I just have a feeling they went too far in this paricular case.

This is why many of us visit China, to see the architecture and learn about its past. Well worth checking out as you walk around the city.

We knew it wouldn't be a long visit here, so we coupled it together with lunch in Tianyi School and post-lunch pictures in "Ningbo Yue Lake" Park (月湖公园) (walking between the three). We had young children with us so this was perfect - something that would be quick, low commitment, and give us a taste of old China in the... More

The pagoda itself is lovely and is worth going to see and taking a few photographs. However, the area that it is in is not especially nice - lots of lots of cheap shops, cheap street-food stalls and a whole lot of noise!

Sure, when in Ningbo... it is a must to see this once and snap a photo, and look at something as unique as a partly unrestored pagoda in China.

it nice to see while illuminated during some dark hours, or when walking around, but nothing exceptional. Its an old pagoda that people can sit and relax on a bench outside, but no more than that.

Located just beside the ChengHuangMiao shopping complex. I entered this Pagoda because I have few spare hours to spend before catching a train to Wuxi. Entrance to the Pagoda complex / garden is free, but to go up you have to pay 5 RMB, so cheap, so I give it a try. The Pagoda is small, the wooden stairs are... More

Went there with 2 families on a sunday. Nice place to walk and visit the temple. Relaxed atmosphere and many traditions. We had our own food with us.
