Fairly well preserved Old Town buildings, structures, waterway, and area. Likely looks much as it did hundreds of years ago.

I went to Luxun's hometown with my classmates on a schooltrip. It's in the south of China so although it was in November when I visited,I didn't feel really cold. You just need to wear a long-sleeved jacket and take an umbrella with you because it often rains.

We stayed in the Luxun's memorial hall for about thirty minutes, you can see many sentences and words written by Luxun and the summary of his life.I took a memorable photo of the bust of Luxun and the calligraphy "Soul of the nation" behind the bust.I liked this photo because the calligraphy behind the bust was made of gold stamping and it was really shiny under the light,so does the bust, although the bust was made pf plaster,we could still feel the greatness of Luxun.

If you are a student and you will go there as a schooltrip, you can have a lesson in Three-Flaudio-videoor Study, where Luxun has studied. The lesson was interesting because I learnt more about the junior of Luxun.

In a word,it was great and I hope to go there once more someday!

This is the same kind of street you find in other Chinese towns. It is sanitized reconstruction that, while nice to look at, has very little to offer that you cannot find elsewhere. It mostly sells calligraphy decorated fans and a few other souvenirs. It is OK, but unless you have a strong interest in the early life of Lu Xun (who only lived there until he was 17) and are visiting his childhood home, there is no need to go there. If you go north a little to where Tishan Bridge is you will find a genuine example of a classic neighbourhood without the commercial stuff that you find at Luxun Lu.

While in Shaoxing, we visited a Lu Xun native place. It is a large complex of historical buildings with LuXun memorial, gardens, and house where LuXun lived. Admission is free, with photo ID provided.

This is a fun way to learn about what life was like for a hero of Shaoxing during his lifetime. You can visit this gem while walking around Shaoxing in an hour or less. For us as tourists, we also enjoyed shopping all around Luxann's home. Very enjoyable and a good way to spend an afternoon.

when you swaying in the wooden boad with dark bamboo awning, it's like you can still hear the ancient opera among the lake, where the famous writer Luxun enjoy the bean soup with his dearest little friends. it's a memory of the age, a lasting dream of childhood.

When Shaoxing is mentioned, “It’s Lu Xun’s hometown” usually comes to mind first.

Lu Xun, one of the notable residents of Shaoxing, was a renowned Chinese writer and literacy critic in the 20th century.

Some of his essays and writings have been part of the primary school and middle school compulsory curriculum in China.

(Just in case that someone might not know who Lu Xun was and where he came from;-)

▪️How to get there
From Hangzhou: Ride Hangzhou Metro Line 5 to its final stop, Guniang Qiao station, and transfer to Shaoxing Metro Line 1. Smooth transition - so convenient!

▪️Lu Xun’s Native Place
Approx. 500 meters from the metro station is Lu Xun’s Native Place.

In addition to Lu Xun’s childhood residence and a memorial hall dedicated to him, this pedestrian-oriented district contains numerous boutiques, art galleries, diners, jewellery stores, and a Starbucks:)

The same sort of undistinguished features you’ll find in every tourist spot - once you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all;-)

Luxun was a famous story writer. Luxun Hometown (Luxun Native Place) offers a glimpse into the ancient residence and architecture. Good for anyone with an interest in Chinese history and literature.
