The cathedral of Barranquilla is big enough, but it does not offer much in mean of architecture or art.

While I find the outside architecture a bit unusual and not that attractive, once you go inside it is really quite artistic and has some of the most awesome glasswork. The lighting in the smaller side auditorium is also impressive and there was a mass going on in there that did not interfere with the main auditorium ambience or quiet... More

The church was closed at the visit time around 12:30 PM. A will like to said that church should be open at least all day long on Sunday for people who like to visit The Santisimo

In the middle of the city, you will find this huge structure, this is the center of the faith in Barranquilla.

I like the way it was set up at night. The mall is right across it so you could do several things at the same time and stop by the Catedral when you are done at the mall.

Barranquilla its not the most touristic place. But there is a couple of cool things, This catedral doesnt have nothing interesting or unique, but if you are near could be cool to look around and check the building, If you dont go, you wont be skipping something important.

We love this Cathdral, but at first glance it does seem rather cavernous. Gorgeous stained glass windows in front depict the 7- day Creation. Pope John Paul II visited in the 80's and stood on the balcony. There's a small museum inside with items from his visit.

It is a very nice building, looks nice at night when the outside lights are turned on. On the inside you will see a typical Catholic cathedral.

I had gone past this cathedral many times with the intention of visiting, as I'd heard it was very beautiful. Two things were stopping me though - the exterior of the building made me doubt its beauty, plus it always appeared to be closed. Finally one Sunday I went there to see if I could enter - it was at... More
