This area offers spectacular and panoramic views of the harbor, waterfront and Walled City within the area of the Walled City. This stone wall surrounding the area is a part of the history of Cartagena. Photo opportunities exist in abundance in capturing the historic nature and culture of this area. This area is well worth visit and a must see! Climbing into this area is also worth it. Thereafter has been preserved beautiful for the pleasant of all visitors.

This is a very busy are and we tried to stop there before sunset but it wasn't possible so we just hung around the wall and took our photos. There are a few places on the cannon cut outs to sit on so plan ahead. It is a pleasant area to absorb the ambiance and significance of the wall construction and that period of history. Nice views too. Tip: do your own research to understand what you're looking at; other comments are about lack of signage.

We walked around this area while exploring the Walled City during the afternoon. It’s a great spot to get a view of the city and take photos with massive Colombian flags. Cafe Del Mar is located in this spot, which is where many people go to get drinks and watch the sunset. It was closed when we were there, but it seems to be a very popular spot in the evenings!

Between the 2 sections of the city wall that I went up (this one on the west side & the one on the north side near the lovely "shopping-row building" Plaza de las Bovedas) both offering "pretty exhilarating" views of the Caribbean Sea as far as eyes can see, definitely "more enjoyable" was this one (for "a lot more" cannons & more of those small watchtowers on this wall in comparison to that one, and also for a nice skyline view of the Bocagrande area to the south across the sea which simply can't be seen from the north wall). And with also quite a bit of the "area above" to walk around (including the area at a corner or such a bit lower than the rest), my suggestion is also to walk all the way to the south section of the Wall where right down below is the "long rectangular" building of Museo Naval del Caribe although one which I didn't enter due to a bit of a steep admission of about 16,000 pesos (just a short walk of 5 minutes or so from this section on the west side).
And being on the west side of the 'Walled City", located just within a 5-to-10-minute walk of this section of the Wall are some great sites: Plaza de Santo Domingo (a "lively plaza" with also the bright eye-catching front face of Iglesia de Santo Domingo along one side where inside the church are some nice statues of saints); Catedral de Santa Catalina (with a beautiful pink dome to look up outside & also with "long carving" scenes to look up inside along its lengths); Palace of the Inquisition (a 2-storied "Cartagena history" museum with some great displays although not too many); and Iglesia de San Pedro Claver (with the "actual remains" of Saint Pedro Claver at the altar).

Boring, waste of time, riding bike along the top of castle wall looking at either the sea or the center town of Cartagena. Basically, there is nothing to do in this town, but sweat

It’s really the fortified walls and turrets that surrounded the old town area. It’s all in remarkable condition and worth walking around.

The walls of Cartagena are a gem and this section with all the cannons and the Lookout point offers great sea views as well as a good view back into the old town.
You get a nice cooling breeze here and the area is very popular at sunset.

Nice views of the ocean but not much information about the history of this place. It’s a fortified wall with many cannons but not much explaining what it all was used for

This place is one of the best places for watching and admiring sunset in Cartagena. Plenty of people are coming here just for that.

This particular spot in Cartagena is very unique; at night you find yourself una very romantic spot with a great view of the bay, great live music bands and the restaurant has many options for you to choose.
Behind the Baluarte the square that is full of history and the buildings around will force you to stop and relax yourself.
