This museum is free to enter and has a good range of artifacts on show but is fairly small in size and after visiting the gold museum in Bogota I expected more and found it slightly disappointing.

Very interesting info about the history of the region; great exhibit of artifacts; air conditioned rooms; very helpful staff. Small, but charming. It is worth a visit!

This is a small museum with great information in both English and Spanish. The displays are interesting and the museum is well organized and kept. It is SO much better than the paid museum just across the square. Nice and air conditioned, the perfect stop on a hot day. And it's FREE with guides that will answer questions but do... More

A smaller brother of museum in Bogota. Still worth a visit. Plus amazing aircon will help you get away from the heat of Cartagena's street. And it's a free to enter.

This is an interesting museum in the old part of Cartagena - really gorgeous gold items, great information (in Spanish and English), and easy to find. Plus it's free, and has really great AC for the hot afternoons in Cartagena. It isn't huge, but worth a visit. And photos are permitted, just no flash. They don't have a shop, but... More

If you have been to the Gold Museum in Bogota, you will find this one to be small. But the displays are still rich and well presented, and the focus here is on the region around Cartagena. Entrance is free and texts are in Spanish and English.

It's a small museum and it was part of our tour. I'm not sure I would have paid an entrance fee to go but it's laid out well and you might as well learn some of the history while visiting the city. We enjoyed it but it wasn't a highlight of our trip.

great little museum rich in the history of gold. it has a small little courtyard with some benches and the actual museum area is located on two floors and is air conditioned so a nice respite from the heat.
