We were staying two minutes away from this intimate but suddenly "happening" square and ate dinner twice at restaurants lining it. Both times the church that is at its center was shut up tight--although the trampoline set up at its doors was very active! (Frustratingly, we hardly ever found an open church during our roaming around Cartagena.) The third time... More

Every evening around 6 or 7 we headed to this square . Lots of action. We never stayed for the late night action. But we heard it was very good. Locals just living their lives. Buskers. Kids playing soccer. Little kids with their parents learning to walk. Checkers. Delicious vendors all around for great prices. Sitting here and taking it... More

What this square sets it outside from the rest is that it is surrounded by street art. They are also several galleries. We went there expecting a free tour but the guy never showed up, but quite happily made our own way around

I never made it inside this church This is the happening location for people watching in the area. Come here at night and you will see locals, back packers, street vendors, and bicycle clubs meeting. Fun!

in the evening some local musicians and dancers will perform on the square and you can sit in one of the cafes/bars and look. don't forget to tip them.

We biked through this area and enjoyed the mural art, the recycled bottle decorations in alley and the entertainment at the church. Fun vibe, less polished, more locals hanging at their houses - even danced with some of them.

Very nice church at the center of Getsemani with an adjacent plaza. I'm glad we went to Getsemani because it shows a different side of Cartagena than the Walled City or Central Historic District. This is where the poorer people live. It was interesting to see the hustle and bustle of their daily lives. Pelple here work as they did... More

This is the place to be in Getsemani for locals and tourists alike. Street performers, food vendors, cafes, and convenience store (where you could buy a cold beer or ice cream). Great place to spend an evening!

This lovely old church, Iglesia de la Santisima Trinidad (Holy Trinity), with its recognizable bright yellow facade, is located in the Getsemani Bario (neighborhood). It's about a 5-10 minute walk from the Old Cartagena gateway, the Torre del Reloj. The simplicity of the outside design is a contrast to the inside. Traditional 3 naves constitute the church's main floor layout,... More

Best place to hang out in Getsemani. Laid back but with plenty to see and good places to eat and drink. Street food, small cafes and upmarket restaurants. Loved it.
