As part of a group trip we had a beginner lesson, which was a lot of fun. I followed that up with a private and was really able to get to learn some steps and practice dancing. Mauricio was a great instructor and the rates were very reasonable. If you want to do a little dancing in Colombia, I recommend reaching out to this place.

I had never danced salsa before (or any dance) and within an hour Enrique taught me 5 basic salsa moves. I thought that was fun, but it was just the beginning. We went salsa bar hopping and I was able to experience some of the salsa bars and learn about some of the history and culture of salsa. I saw some incredible salsa dancers in the process. Enrique is a great host, instructor, and tour guide. This was a great way to get a feel for the city. And the drinks were awesome!

We did a private salsa class with Mauricio.

We learned to much in that hour, we regret not doing another class. He caters the lessons depending on your comfort and ability to catch on.

They didn’t ask for a deposit and just paid in full when we arrived. Don’t forget to wear confortable shoes.

My husband says this was the activity that he enjoyed the most in our Colombia trip.

Conveniently located in the city center, just across the plaza from the Clock Tower. Had a really fun Open Class where we learned basic salsa and merengue steps. Instructor did not speak English, but dance is universal, and the mostly English speaking students were able to follow along and learn. Arrive about 10 minutes early to pay and get yourself ready, and be sure to bring a bottle of water. Wear clothes you can move in, this is a dance class! The basic steps and rhythms you learn in these open classes will help you enjoy the music and dancing you'll experience when you head out later in the night! Check their website for class times, and have fun!

We took several hours of private lessons here, learned a lot and had tons of fun. Their website explains everything clearly and it was easy to arrange reservations by email. Prior reviews indicate trouble finding Crazy Salsa. It's really not that hard. If you're taking a taxi, ask the driver to drop you off at la Torre del Reloj and just walk a block. A bit hot, so bring water. Shorts and tennis shoes are fine.

I came for 2 private lessons at the studio and felt it was worth every penny. I learned a lot and had fun doing it!!! Be ready to sweat, relax and listen to the music. Oh and bring a bottle of water. I had Mauricio as a teach and his passion for the dance really shows. I highly recommend it. Ask a taxi to help you find it. I read some reviewers had trouble finding it. I took a taxi the first time and walked with no problem the second time.

This is a must do! Enrique was THE BEST- you MUST ask for him when you go on this tour! We met up at the studio and he was very patient to teach us the counts and steps. The bars we went to were amazing and had such Lively music! Each bar we got a beer and the daiquiris at the last bar were amazing! got is all out of our comfort zones so we could relax, dance, and enjoy the music!

Ideally located in the old town near the clock tower on the street Calle de la Carettas, 23/34. Short and petite, the owner Esmeralda was was very helpful in arranging the booking on line despite my vague dates and had 2 lots on 2 days free. The price of 80,000 pesos about usd 25 is very competitive for an hour class. The place though not very big was sufficient. They have both group and private classes and very vibrant young dancers to teach dance. If you are in Cartagena, a visit to the school and a 2 hr class would make your evening worthwhile. Check it out.

Our tour group had an included visit for a traditional Cumbia lesson. It was a blast watchinh the dancers perform. Only two of us got up to try it out (and we were both so darned uncoordinated!). Afterward, they showed us a dance that they claim caused the birthrate in Cartagena to rise... After watching you can understand why!
