This was the most amazing place! Can't wait to research more about how it came to be. The water was cool and the mountains amazing. The two together made this a view not to be missed. I do not speak Spanish but this place was way better than the rest of Colombia in this regard; more English friendly. The sellers... More

It's well worth a trip to GUatapé if you get the chance. A bus is only 13,000 pesos from Medellín and takes around 2 hours.

Is an adventure climb the rock, enjoy the most beautiful views from the top of the stone yardarm. . . lunch in the village, to tour its romantic streets interacting with farmers in the region. . . and if you reach for a walk in the dam. . . and water sports

The trip from Medellin to Laguna is about an hour and a half, but it gives provides the opportunity to see the beautiful Colombian countryside. Once you arrive, any view of the Laguna will astonish you. From any height around the lagoon you will see views that you will not forget ever. There is a second attraction nearby that you... More

The hike to the top of El Peñol was a great 650plus steps, awesome view. The drive from Medellin to El Piñol was perhaps an hour and a half, great way to see the countryside. I enjoyed walking through the small town of Guatapé the best, so unique with all the colorful buildings.

This was absolutely the highlight of our trip to Medellin. We took the Guatape Tour, and there are options for active people and not so active. Climb to the top of 700+ steps! Or...stay at the bottom, which still is up in the air with a lovely view and go shopping, have something to drink, enjoy the vistas. It's a... More

Beautiful place, better experienced by renting a little boat and cruising around the laguna. There're a few interesting restaurants for a stop and many beautiful properties to admire.

The water was low, the town was totally quiet, and we were through in a couple of hours. If you don't want to go for a boat ride on the dwindling lake there is not much to do here. We had an acceptable lunch then caught an early bus back to Medellin. Probably the very best part of the trip... More
