I had heard of Botero but not really seen much of his work, this museum was a good introduction. Placed just in Plaza Botero, his major sculptures are outside but the ticket in allows you to see more statues and his painting work. There was...More

I enjoyed the museum in a rainy morning and I don't regret it. They have a nice colection of Botero's art. I enjoyed the last floor with the Botero collection, the rest is not that interesting but not bad as well.

Similar to the Museo Botero in Bogota, Botero donated a large collection of works for the founding of this museum. There is an extensive collection of Botero's work alongside pieces by many world-reknowned artists from his private collection. The Museo Botero in Bogota was my...More

While many of the works in this museum focus on hometown hero Botero, there are also many other interesting works - paintings, sculptures, etc. While the exterior looks like a Communist-style dull building, the interior gives way to a colonial hacienda-style feel. It is very...More

This is the full on treatment of Butera. Even if you think you have seen enough after seeing the statues in the plaza, think again. The paintings alone are worth the price of admission. Do go to the museum, if only for an hour.

This fine museum in the Plaza de Botero is a must for anybody interested in the arts of Medellin. The large collection of Pedro Botero paintings and sculptures (both inside and outside in the Plaza Botero) alone are enough to merit a good leisurely visit.
