If you are at all interested in the Bolivarian history of south america this is a fine place to start, not only is the museum interesting but the location is spectacular.

The gardens are big and could be simply amazing, but they aren't very well taken care of (litter scattered around, lawn not cut etc.). The trees are cool though and they have loads of big iguanas (perfectly safe, don't worry) running freely around the gardens....More

Visited this villa & gardens where Bolivar died. Had a college student who spoke English to show us around who was excellent- no charge, tip only.interesting from historical perspective as well as botanical & wonderful birds in the garden area .

It's well kept, they have free tours, beautiful grounds and vegetation, a small art museum, and monument to El Libertador. It's historical significance adds to the enjoyment.
