This was the first place I toured while in the Galapagos. This was a great way to start after two days of travel. The hike is easy (though uneven in many spots) and there is a large variety of wildlife. The island isn't very large, so most tours have you hop into the water at the far end of the island and then snorkel back. There was some really cool marine life to see there, and there were some boobies diving for fish near us.

The visit to Isla Lobos was the highlight of our Galapagos adventure! To be so close to the nesting Magnificent Frigate Birds and Blue Footed Boobies was an absolute privilege and one of the best days ever!

This boulder strewn small island is home to nesting frigate birds and blue-footed boobies. The birds are tame and allow you to see them up close. You can circumnavigate the small island in an hour.

We were going to go here for a walk . I actually ended up returning to the boat without doing it as the footing was so difficult for me as I don’t have a good sense of balance . It is very rough terrain over volcanic boulders, so not suitable for everyone . But did get great close up photo of blue booby ! Those who did manage the walk enjoyed it though .

The only reason to go here is to see the animals. However every island is fast becoming over populated and full of hotels and restaurants. The locals are scum and Americans are rude. Stay in Ecuador that is far better and the people are friendly.

Once off the landing rocks, we were greeted by sea lions on the sandy beach. Path provided fantastic viewing of frigates, boobies, land iguana.

There were sea lions, blue-footed boobies, iguanas, and frigate birds in such numbers that we had to watch our step on the path to make sure we didn't accidentally step on any wildlife. We saw blue-footed boobies courting and frigate birds feeding their young during our short walk here.

This trip was my favorite, the walk along the foot path was a bit tricky but well worth it. There were plenty of Frigate birds nesting and we seen the males with their very distinct red Gular sacs trying to attract the females. Blue footed boobies were nesting on the paths and we seen the chicks at different stages of their development. We were also very lucky to see a pair of boobies doing their courtship dance, mirroring each others moves and offering each other sticks. Plenty of sea lions and iguanas in this area too. After our walk around the island we went snorkeling, best place to swim close up to green pacific turtles and sea lions, the sea lions were very playful and got up very close to us. This is a must do trip.

We came to snorkel with sea lions, but actually saw none in the water. We did, however, see a marine iguana eating algae and swimming underwater. What was unexpected but awesome was how close we were able to get to the birds nesting on the island. Many frigate birds and blue footed boobie parents who built their nest in the middle of the footpath. We had to very carefully walk around the baby to get by. It was amazing!

We saw tons of Sea Lions, frigate birds, iguanas and Blue Footed Boobies on this island. we went snorkeling first which was excellent with sea turtles, a ray and quite a few playful juvenile sea lions. After snorkeling and getting off on the island their were tons of sea lions everywhere either sitting on the rocks or hopping around. Some marine iguana's as well. I found it interesting that the blue footed boobies and frigate birds were nesting close to one another, since the frigate birds will steal the boobies food after they catch it. We did get to see an interesting site when we got to see a frigate bird attempt to steal food from a boobie baby. A fabulous excursion to include or book on your trip.
