Do not miss this

This is a walk (paved all the way) - to a beach of astounding beauty. Go early because it gets hot quickly. Wear sunscreen. Take water. And go.

we took a taxi to the entrance of the park, we paid around 1 dollar, then we walked for about 40 minutes to the beach, then it was another 20-30 minutes to the beach itself, the sand is white and the water is beautiful in playa brava, the one where you shouldn't swim, is awesome to see the iguanas swimming,... We took a taxi from town to the drop off point around 7am for 1 dollar. We did the walk to the first beach in 21 minutes along the beautiful cobblestone path. Another 10 minutes along the first beach, where you can't (and wouldn't want) to swim to get to the second, swimmable beach. We were the only ones on... More

This beach is the most picturesque on the island. It's a good 30 minute walk following the trail down the beach but its a nice stroll through the natural island. When you finally reach the end the beach is the best reward. There are current flags up for safety, unfortunately when we went it was red so I couldn't go... More

This incredible beach! It is 30-40 minutes of walk from city but it is so much of worth it. First you come to Playa Brava. We visted Tortuga Bay 4 times and every time there was red flag on Playa Brave which means that swimming was prohibited but if you continue walk on the beach you will come to main... More

This place was full of wildlife and gorgeous scenery. In order to arrive at the beach, you have to walk from the entrance of the site, to the actual beach. This walk in itself is awesome because it builds you up. You end up walking for about 30-40 minutes depending on your pace. Our group was somewhat young so we... More

Plan for a whole day here, I went for just the afternoon and it was not enough time. Flags will indicate if the main beach is safe for swimming. lots of surfers. Make sure to walk down the beach to the lagoon, an amazing calm place to swim. Vey beautiful and serene. Kayak rental possible, but no food or drink... More

It is a longer walk that you expect, but the beach is spectacular, and you encounter so many marine iguanas, some walking and swimming along the beach. There are also many birds, some saw baby sharks when snorkeling.

Tortuga is a beautiful beach, but is it worth the long walk to it? Not in my opinion, unless you have half a day to spare and must absolutely find something to do to kill time. I was in Galapagos to see something special, and other than a beautiful beach, Tortuga was nothing special. Of course, it could be because... More
