We spent 2 nights camping at El Garrapatero and we absolutely loved it! That was in February 2014. You need to obtain permission from the National Park in Puerto Ayora beforehand. Camping is free, beach is open to public from 8am to 5pm but it's...More

Good brick path to beach, lovely swim, flamingoes in lagoon and tortoise on way home as well as the Galápagos flower. Taxi to entrance and driver waits or returns.

This is a smaller beach than Tortuga but fewer people. Also not as long a walk to it but you need a bike or a taxi to get to the parking area. Beautiful sand and swimming. I saw a small hammerhead shark close to shore....More

Worth hiring a camionetta for a drive to this beach. A nice boardwalk from the parking area offers many different plants and iguanas to see. At the entrance to the beach there is a ranger station with changing rooms/bathrooms. To the right is a lagoon...More

There is a 10 minute walk from the taxi drop off to the beach. On one side is a small lagoon where we say four or five American Flamingos. We expected to see more but were told that several birds and animals have died due...More

The cost-benefit is just not worth it. It's about $30-40 for a taxi to take you there and back to town. (It's fairly out of the way and there's no public transportation there, so you have to arrange for your taxi to return at a...More

There is parking area with a walkway down to the beach. To get to the location is a 15- minute car ride. The walk takes 15-20 minutes each way. When we were there it was late morning and pretty hot so we were glad to...More

Nice Beach area. Most beaches here are protected. So don't expect restaurants and souvenir shops. Bring your own towels, water, and food. We actually took a boat taxi here. He then picked us up a few hours later.

I didn't see anything special here. Of course there is a nice ride with amazing views but I was not amazed by the beach. On one side you have flamingos which is nice but again it is just a beach. If you go take water...More

It's easy to book trips when in the Galapagos. Your risk is that tours are full but it gives you flexibility and also the chance of cheap deals. We spent a week there and before arriving we only booked a hotel for the first... More
