This lagoon is located in the city of Puerto Ayora. It is somewhat hidden and not common part of the tourist circuit. However it is very beautiful, quiet with beautiful views. Also in the lagoon there are some sea turtles that you can easily see with some patience. Highly recommended.

A surprisingly peaceful spot amid the hubbub of Puerto Ayora. As others have noted, the walkway no longer goes all the way around the lagoon, and it doesn't look like there is any intention of rebuilding that section—only the stone bases remain in some places.
The only wildlife I spotted during my 10-15 minutes here was a mockingbird at the gate, but it was still a nice place to grab some serenity and regroup.

Possibly the most relaxing and peaceful lagoon I have visited. Not only an abundance of wildlife above the waterline but below were baby hammerhead, white tipped and black tipped sharks, baby seals as well as fish of many varieties, colours and size. Truly one of Earths treasures and beautifully preserved.

We visited Laguna las Ninfas twice. Once was in the afternoon (around 3:00 p.m.) and once in the morning (8:00 a.m.). Each time there were only a couple of fish swimming around. Furthermore, there looks to have been an elevated boardwalk which went around the laguna at one time, but this is no longer accurate. It is a peaceful place if you would like to sit on the wobbly decking for a few minutes, but that's about it.

I had booked a hotel near this location so we could visit it easily with down time. Unfortunately you can't get around the lagoon. I think it will be under construction for some time, as I didn't see any restoration work being done. It's a shame because it looked like it could be amazing.

Hidden spot perfect for relaxing after a day tour or for a morning walk. There is signage along the way that explains the mangrove ecosystem. There are several docks to sit and view the landscape. Our kids were able to play around and spot fish.
I recommend this location to wind down and even have a romantic walk.
Educational activity to learn about the island ecosystem.

Having read reviews, I did not expect much, but as we were spending four nights in Puerto Ayora it seemed worth a stop. I ended up going back the next day because I enjoyed it so much. It's very peaceful and there is interesting signage in English and Spanish describing the flora (and some amusing carvings on the fence only in Spanish).
While I personally didn't see much in the way of wildlife besides some little fish, it was a peaceful refuge that I really enjoyed. And it's free! The only way to make it better would be to make the boardwalk so that it was a loop rather than an out-and-back.

Just 5 minutes from town center and it’s free. Fun to walk around and see the different iguanas and there were also a sea lion swimming around. Spend 30 minutes there.

Lovely little lagoon, right in town. Well worth the visit.
It is only a short board walk.
It is a bit odd that it's not a loop, but it is nice.

Very nice walk. Although some of the docks boards were broken or loose. Made me nervous with little kids. But overall nice. We saw sea turtles and sea lions and lots of fish. Very informative signage as well

Hi, Borsbeek.
I don't know exactly what time it's open but I believe it's until there is sunlight. You don't have to pay anything, it's a free attraction. It's on the way to Tortuga Bay Beach, so if you're going there, you can go there for a while. It will only take 10 minutes to know the place, which is a nice one to relax.
