Depending on the time of year the beach can be a little rocky (pebbled) but usually it is not too busy and is clean.

Sunday afternoons are a peak time and by the end of the day the beach becomes slightly littered and there are quite a few people drinking. Earlier in the day the beach is just gorgeous and wide with endless blue sky and sea.

The beautiful beach is clean, safe and inviting. A new development is the many restaurants on the malecon are now open Friday and Saturday nights. The new mayor of Manta is expanding tourist sights from es in Manta. On Friday and Saturday nights there will be music and performances on the beach plaza. There is free parking from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Enjoy your visit!

After I bought a wide-brimmed hat, two friends and I spent several hours lounging on rented chairs (3 for $5) under a canopy for shade, enjoying the clean beach sand and surf. The wind was strong that day. I had a terrific, "suave" (gentle) neck and shoulder massage for $7 and on our second visit, a $10 foot and leg massage. One of my friends is a regular and knows many of the employees who ensure a safe and secure nap. We loved the little cubbies in the chairs to store our bags under our backs!
