La Chocolatera is a the end of the western-most peninsula in South America. The water is rough so there's no swimming but nature is beautiful here. During the right time of the year (fall to spring) you can see whales in the distance. At La...More

We took a taxi out to the Naval Base to the scenic view point of Chocolatera; cost $3.00. It had nice sidewalks and lookout spots. There were many birds diving and fishing, the waves were crashing on the rocks. We went early in the morning...More

We had to rush through our tour of this gorgeous site, but can't wait to go spend a lot of time there in the future. Don't miss this!

We got to see the Sea Lions & Whales. Cloudy day & misty, but was all worth it! Short distance driving into the facility & very little walking. The ocean hitting the rocks reminds me of Hawaii. No charge at the gate.

This is a rocky outcrop that juts out into the Pacific Ocean. To get there you have to cross the navy base at the west end of Salinas but the guards are friendly and will wave you through. It can be cold so bring a...More
