This is a fairly easy hike though fording the river (the bridge is out) may be challenging for some depending on the water level/ tides. The hike passes along the beautiful coast line and ends at an impressive waterfall.

Half day hike along the coast to the waterfall, guided by a villager. The scenery is stunning and varied, with beach, cliff, lush rainforest and a swim in the waterfall. It's worth getting the boat back if you can and seeing the other waterfall that is only accessible by boat.

The town of Lavena was extensively damaged during the cyclone, and is still rebuilding. The tourist centre is temporarily being run from a shelter beside a house whilst the new one is being built, and the income from tourism is much needed just now to help the local people get back on their feet. The coastal scenery is as beautiful... More

Although possible to walk without a guide we decided to take advantage of the village guide who was worth the small fee charged. He was informative and treated us to fresh coconut which he found on our trail. Swimming in the waterfall pool was brilliant although we did not try to jump from the top as he did!

I did the lovely Coastal Walk, which is no longer FJ$15, but now $25, which is pretty expensive just to take a walk. The family I stayed with told me that it was flat and would take about an hour and a half, but I found it fairly strenuous for my short legs, lots of uphill climbs on slippery rocks,... More

lovely walk along the coast. pass village. climb into jungle area. path well marked. have to cross stream on rocks - wear good shoes and willing to get wet. gorgeous falls at the end. cold water but fun to swim. possible to climb to top and jump in, if you're really adventurous

We took a guide with us who was funny and made the journey much more pleasant. Silly me thought it was a 1.5 mile walk, but it was a 1.5 hour walk. Make sure to bring good shoes as the terrain changes from beach to trail to rock. Plus bring lots of water as the hike can be strenuous when... More

This is a lovely walk where you will see natural beauty and village life. The cyclobne had taken the suspension bridge but our river crossing was assisted by helpful local children. You need to be reasonably fit as the path is rough and there is a bit of clambering, rewarded by a swim at the end! 8km round trip.

Take the walk to the falls and back by foot, see what you see on your way and the things you will missed out, is what you will see on your way back. the tracks are alright and at some places you might need to be little bit more careful while walking the tracks, the tracks are well signed to... The walk is 5km long and takes you to a beautiful waterfall where it is possible to swim. Along the way there are many beautiful plants and the vistas are stunning. The path is well maintained. We had to ford a river on the way, as the recent cyclone had demolished the bridge. Fording was a little challenging, but doable... More
