It's always a new experience when we visit Tirumala. The wait for seeing the Lord is worth the glimpse u get before u are hurried out. Many changes are taking place to improve the darshan experience.

One of the most sacred shrine for Hindus. The peace & pleasure that you'll get doing Lord Venkateshwara Darshans here is unparalleled. This place can get very crowded hence I'm sharing few useful tips for people who'd like to visit here. Tips: 1. Book Darshan tickets in advance on their official website. 2. There are many different kinds of Darshans available, book as per your belief and affordability. Do remember that the amount you are paying is basically a donation which is being put to good use by TTD. 3. Weekdays are definitely less crowded than the weekends. 4. You can walk up to the temple from Allipiri or take a transport. We have been visiting this place nearly once in 3 months and each time come back with renewed enthusiasm. TTD has been doing an excellent job of continually building / improving and maintaining this place.

The best Tirumala Darshan is the one that gives you the most time and opportunity to be in the presence of Lord Venkateswara. There are a few different ways to get this kind of Darshan, but they all require some planning and preparation. One of the best ways to get a good Tirumala Darshan is to book a Special Entry Darshan (SED) ticket. SED tickets can be booked online or through a travel agent. They cost more than regular Darshan tickets, but they also give you priority access to the temple.

This is a spiritual place and obviously the score 5 is for that. It was my wish to attend Balaji temple and I feel my wish is fulfilled. I was lucky to have Jaydev as my very close friend and brother who guided me through every step. Without his help I would have been totally lost. Despite being in US he introduced us to his school friend who did a lot of running around for us. As NRI we had to get there a day before and complete all necessary and donations entry fees etc. Following morning went for Darshana and wait were approx 45 mins to an hour. Nice Darshana, obviously a bit rush due to many visitors but was all worth it. Being a temple and holy place officials can be a little friendly and welcoming. Place appears well maintained and donation is required for this which lots of people are lucky to be able to do so. Visited exactly a day after 10 day Ekadashi festival. Thousands of devotees but very well organised. Plenty of children. Waited for 4 hours which did not feel very long. Purchasing laddu was quite chaotic but overall a great experience. Definitely recommended to all hindus. Govinda !

Nice temple to visit with family . We planned tirupati temple and we booked our tickets from travels who take us to tirupati ,from chennai . So since 2 family with kids we planned ,they arranged a van and by morning 5.30 am van came,it was a 1 day trip . Then we started our journey and after 2 hours they stopped in hotel and provided us breakfast idli ,Vada and dosa. Then we moved and before taking up the hill journey one check point is there ,where we have to scan all our bags and in front small vinayakar temple is there. Then uphill journey for 30 minutes ,slowly van will go. Once reached ,since we prayed for tonsure for kids ,we went to the specific place ,offered to God and kids took bath and we move ahead for darshan. Ours was 300 rs ticket. Once we are inside ,they scan our vaadhar I'd also and we have to move along the line for darshan and if we are waiting in big hall they give annadanam (rice),then we have to move for darshan of perumal. After coming out deposit changes in hundial then come out and call the driver by getting someone else mobile phone Mobile phones are not allowed once we start our journey for darshan of Lord Balaji. Then board the van and worship thayar down the hill and buy some glass bangles if interested . After worshipping they provided dinner and we moved on to chennai and reached around 12.30 am in the mid night . Only baby foods are allowed and water. No cell phones . Book tickets in advance for darshan. Keep lightweight bags. Keep other bags closed well in the vehicle we are travelling .no need to carry inside the temple premises Get the driver number in a small paper to call back once darshan is over. Also don't forget aadhar card which is important. Do not forget to buy ladoos. Also if going with kids some water and snacks or food packed is needed.

This was our second pilgrimage to the sacred Tirumala temple. The serene atmosphere itself is a reason to visit. We flew into Chennai, spending a night before taking a private car to Tirupati. Our journey included stops at two other temples, extending the usual 3 - 4 hour drive to 7 hours. Thankfully, our driver was excellent and made the trip enjoyable. The next day, we reached the Tirupathi gates by 11 am and headed straight to the NRI counter. The process was efficient- passports verified, forms filled, and tickets purchased (300 INR each, very worthwhile). The NRI queue, though organised, did exist. However, within 45 minutes to 1 hour, we were blessed with the darshan of Lord Venkateswara (Balaji, the beloved from of Vishnu). The temple's organisation was impressive. Despite the crowds, we didn't feel overly tired. And the moment you gaze upon Lord Vishnu, the world melts away. The darshan itself may be brief, but that fleeting glimpse is worth a lifetime. There was just one snag: mobiles were not allowed inside. While a secure storage facility was provided, retrieving them after darshan presented a challenge. The scorching sun and hot ground made walking barefoot back to the storage area difficult. Similarly, collecting the prasad (laddu) involved another trek in the heat. Finally, reaching our driver ( who could not speak English) and coordinating with him the pickup spot, was a bit challenge. Despite these minor inconvenience, the trip was a success. However, a suggestion for the temple management: painting a heat-resistant walking path and / or consolidating phone/prasad collection points closer to the entrance/ exit would greatly enhance the pilgrim experience. Overall, a truly a spiritual journey to a magnificent temple.

We visited Tirupati in early July. We booked an Uber cab from Chennai for around ₹3800, including tolls and state tax. Our hotel, Udayee International, was opposite the Andhra Pradesh Bus Terminal and cost ₹2500 per night (with a 24-hour checkout). Although it was a bit pricey due to the location, we found it convenient. We easily got buses and autos outside the hotel and obtained the Sarva Darshan token from Srinivas building nearby. However, we had to wait in line for 3 hours to get the token for the next day at 8 pm. Instead, we decided to climb the steps from Alipiri, hoping to get a Divya Darshan token, but unfortunately, it was discontinued due to a recent government change. The steps had 3500 steps and a total distance of 8 km, taking us around 4.5 hours to reach the top. After reaching the top, we managed to use our Sarva Darshan token and entered the queue at 2 pm. The queue was long, taking us 7 hours to complete the darshan. We had an incredible experience and felt divine after the darshan. Some tips: book special entry tokens online to avoid long queues, consider Tamil Nadu state bus packages for a convenient trip, and be prepared to walk a lot on the top. That's it.
