The beautiful, well maintained bank of the mighty river in Guwahati appeared a nice place to spend some time. There are beautiful parks on the bank and we found very large vessels anchored there. Some ferry services are there, as well. to carry passengers to a temple and may be elsewhere. The statue, within the water, offered a spectacular view.

The river though originates from the Tibet, it flows from the north of Assam and enters Bangladesh. The river cruises in Guwahati in the evening are worth a visit to this mighty river.

The mighty Brahmaputra makes for captivating sight. We took a ferry to Majuli Island - the largest inhabited river island in the world. The flow of the water and the expanse of the river is truly mesmerizing. The boat ride was delightful too, though a little crowded.

Our trip up the Brahmaputra with Assam Bengal Navigation, far exceeded my expectations. I would recommend taking this cruise during milder seasons ... NOV was perfect for us, there were 11 of us and we had the riverboat to ourselves with a crew of 24! Our accommodation on the MV Charaidew was great - all cabins are twins, with en... More
