Hi Friends, I went to Diu fort today with family. Construction of fort is still in good condition. One must have guide else no use. Guide Mr.R.M.Solanki is very informative. The normal charges are Rs.200/- which is reasonable. This guide will explain about trees in fort also. This fort is constructed by Portuguese. This fort has Good example of rain... More

Diu fort built at a very strategic location is one of the main attractions in Diu. It is one of the few places left in Diu that truly showcases the influence of the Portuguese colonial era. It was a very well planned structure with barracks, areas for reinforcements, artillery rooms and storage areas. It has cannons and mechanical weapons on... More

Diu fort gives you glimpses of history of Portuguese era. The fort is quite large compared to Fort at Murud janjira. It gives you some nice photo shoot moments.

An ancient swimming pool close to the five cannons is very deep. But because of long grass its very hard to think about the fort real... More

An imposing fort that is in very good condition. Diu Fort houses one of the oldest jails in India, about 500 years old. The fort has many Portuguese brass cannons, many on their original carriage. One can see the old jail, Fortim Do Mar (locally called Panikotha) just off the fort in the sea.

Diu is very small compared to other beach destinations in India ,and is a little off the map so to speak . This makes it a great place to enjoy the sun and be at peace. The Diu Fort is a signature historical monument right in the middle depicting the transitions from Portuguese , British to India and the history... More

A historical Fort & Well maintained! Walking the entire fort was a great way to have a trek. Needs more vigilance by authorities to make sure it's not littered.
